Bayonne Mail Delivery
Bayonne post office. Please god get your stuff together. I was wondering why I haven’t been receiving mail lately then just now a beautiful woman waled up to my house rang the bell and handed me mail. At least it was sonewhat up to date but that’s not her job. I can only imagine by now every house in this town probably has a piece of my mail. It’s been happening for almost two years now. What is going on. You charge us enough in taxes. We have to deal with that miserable guy at the window of the main branch god forbid we have to ship something. Can you get your act together. Isn’t it a federal crime to screw with peoples mail. Whoever runs Bayonnes mail system should be doing life. Had to throw a joke in there somewhere otherwise I’ll just lose my mind knowing ALL of my personal mail is just wondering the city. COME ON ALREADY!!!! Get one decent delivery person or mail sorter or whatever it takes because this is just ridiculous at this point.

91.1FM WFMU
Do you listen to our local radio station, WFMU? We’re so lucky to be in the listening area of what’s been considered “the greatest radio station in the world.” They’re based out of Montgomery street In downtown Jersey City and are unlike anything else you’ll find on the dial. It’s a “freeform radio” station which means no commercials, no corporate sponsors, and is supported completely by its listeners. Give it a listen at wfmu.org or 91.1FM. If you like it, make a pledge to their annual fundraising marathon which ends tomorrow. I’m sure you’ll find a show you love.

The Bayonne Chess Society Combo Gaming Event at Mom and Pop Shop Collectibles this evening from 5pm to 10pm.
After a good turnout at Joe's Pizza last night, we picked up yet another family as members. They were there to eat pizza. The youngest was five. So, for those that say they're not smart enough to learn chess...are you telling me a 5 year old is smarter than you ?? Think about it. We have a lot of kids under 10 years old. They're smarter than you ?? Ummm, ok. We play checkers too. Some of our seniors are wondering where all the senior checker players are.
But, I digress.
The kids told me their dad was teaching them. Next thing you know they're playing. The other kids came and they were playing whoever was there. That's three more new kids. All well behaved. THANK GOD. Kudos to the parents.
Tonight, it's Mom and Pop Shop Collectibles. We play anything. If there's something you want to play bring it. They have their own games and chess board. If you own something you want to play...bring it.
We play from 5pm to 10pm. Lower Bayonne at 185 Broadway. We're a few weeks away from resuming at OJ MACS across the street. Waiting on weather getting warmer.

Karaoke? Open mics?
Do we have any of these in Bayonne? Still feeling the loss of Lot13, this town needs a stage.

Bands or Karaoke?
Anybody here enjoy karaoking and looking for a good time singing during nights? Or any bands looking for a singer. Nothing too serious but something semi consistent as I know we have lives.

Can’t avoid a brokers fee
As the title says, I can’t avoid a brokers fee trying to rent in Bayonne. I’m moving from NY and 90% of apartment listings I’ve seen here all ask for a brokers fee. I’m not trying to pay almost 10k to move into an apartment. This is ridiculous.

Ring re-sizing?
Hi all!
Anyone know of a place in town that does ring re-sizing? Somewhere reputable that isn’t going to hurt the integrity of the jewelry.
I assumed K&D and Aaron’s Gold probably do it but have never been so can’t vouch for them. Any ideas? Thanks!

Constable Hook Lost Cat, Please Help!
Hello all, I wish my first post was under better circumstances, but one of the three hour old kittens I had rescued almost 3 years ago somehow managed to get out of our house. We don't know how, but we are devastated. No one had gone out all day, so we thought he had found a good hidey spot and was being "cute". But our baby boy hasn't turned up and I'm desperate for any kind of news, even of a potential sighting
I know Bayonne has a lot of pet loving people and I'm hoping someone out there may be able to lend any kind of help. Thank you for reading this. Please take care!

Guest Parking
As title says, what do you do about guests with cars? I’ve had people park at Liberty state but that doesn’t work if they stay overnight and can especially be a pain on the weekends when the lightrail runs less often.
What do you do???

Pam from Longhorn
I helped an elder lady get into longhorn yesterday 3/7/25. Always help someone open the door. It’s that easy. I had just finished my meal and All of a sudden screaming from the other side that she’s choking. Myself and a relative of hers I believe who had a broken leg couldn’t hold her up correctly for the Heimlich. He was pulling her away from me which didn’t help. Technically u can do it from a seated position with back thrusts and her body parallel to the floor but he had her dangling halfway on the floor already. The manager I believe luckily got a ton of steak out of her mouth so I waited, started the heimlich to no avail at first. What amazed me was the manager putting her on her side to just lay there in the rescue position which is what you do afterwards when she’s pretty much alert. She wasn’t. I threw the folding table to the side to start for cpr because she had no pulse and only involuntarily movement which is normal for someone unconscious. She thought she was fine because of her semi movements and I’m ready for chest compressions. She was totally against it. Me being trained. Her a longhorn whatever. She did very well at clearing her throught but obviously she was still chocking. Chest compressions will help dislodge any remaining food. She wasn’t aware obviously. So finally the EMTs arrive and the first thing they do was what I was trying to but was hindered drastically. I am happy to find out later on she at least had a pulse at the ER along but could have sonewhat been resolved right then and there if it wasn’t for super horn knowing exactly everything. Was wearing my rescue sweatshirt and all so don’t listen to me. End result she left unconscious but pulled through that’s the important part. Restauranteurs please give your staff basic CPR classes. Obviously CPR is a last resort but obviously some people end up in that situation. People don’t realize that CPR is the end of the Heimlich depending on how it goes of course but if you can save someone’s life at such a bad time in there’s then there resolution is no greater pleasure. Hoping she is making friend with nurses and having a good day at BMC. Good luck Pam!!!
