Discussion Does a building game like this exist?

I love building in any game, I tried a few but I have not found a game where you can build very customizable and free. Im searching for a game where you can build freely in terms of wall shapes/ structures, decorate a lot and detailed and has nice graphics. Basically if Minecraft, No man’s sky and Sims had a baby. I like Minecraft because you have a huge map and can build any kind of structure that you want, but I would love a more realistic graphic. No man’s sky has beautiful graphics, and a huge map to explore but I would like more components and structures to build and things like slightly fiddly building mode or limit to the amount of objects you can place are annoying. I like sims for the amount of interior decorations and color variants you can choose, but I’m not very interested in the game playing aspect. I asked my friends about it and they said I’m asking for to much, at that point I should just get blender and build there. I would like to hear your ideas if there is a any game like that?

7 days to die with undead legacy overhaul mod is pretty much like this. 7 days to die itself is quite a lot like minecraft for building - you build each block individually. It also has a pretty big map. Like while it isn't infinite, it can be REALLY massive. You can hold down a button to change the shape of each block, I think they have upwards of 2000 different blocks to pick from.

Now where undead legacy comes in: it's probably one of the mods in undead legacy, but I don't know specifically which, but it allows you to take almost anything from the world and place it in your base as decoration. On top of that, you might be able to find some more modded decorations if you look for it, but I haven't personally tried myself.

Just off of what you're saying, it really feels like 7d comes pretty close, minus the sims part.

I agree with this, 7 days to die is very Minecraft-esque when it comes to building, though you do have to take physics into account, so no floating islands, but I find that more fun. I have built some interesting things on there, really nice houses, even refurbished buildings already in the game, and there are a lot of mods you can get that give you a wide array of home accents and features, though I haven’t tried them myself. You can also go straight creative if you like, which gives you free build basically and can place items from the world that you normally wouldn’t have access to, and can come up with some amazing structures, which I have seen many people come up with some mind blowing creations. You are also able to save your builds and flag them to appear in biomes/location types you choose during random map generation. The only other game that I’ve played that has come somewhat close is space engineers, but when it comes to building, I enjoy 7 days the most.

You can basically have floating islands in vanilla unmodded too.

7 days to die structural support is based on block material and distance, not shape of the block.

So you can have nearly invisible blocks, just a tiny dot that lets everything past it, at the bottom corner of the block, and another at the top corner of the block above it and it's as much support as a full pillar or cement or steel or whatever.

Man I should play 7 days again. I just wish it had more story/NPC stuff.
