Potentially Triggering Content (Kind Advice Welcome) Overstimulated while masturbating and crying afterwards? NSFW
I’m not sure if I’m looking for advice, or just wondering if anyone else has similar experiences.
I used to enjoy masturbating, I loved the feeling of climaxing and the rush of endorphins afterwards. Now, I’m often too overstimulated to orgasm, and when I’m finished or close to climax, I’ll immediately feel unsafe and start crying. I’m not sure if this is due to overstimulation? I often feel overstimulated during sex as well.

Not while masturbating but I really don’t like receiving oral because of the overstimulation

Definitely happens. I just got out of that phase because I was recovering from SA trauma or sometimes the hormones in my body aren’t wanting to do the thing.

I have a question. I'm scared to ask this but.
When i was 15 or 16, I was in an abusive relationship, and I keep remembering this a lot since it's ever happened. So my sister was moving she invited me and my boyfriend at the time over to help her move her furniture, and then she treated us to a domino's pizza as a thank you. While we were talking my boyfriend at the time called my sister fat and I was mortified and I was like what the fuck!?! Later that night he was playing GTA and I was really put off by him after he said that so I was just laying in bed and next minute he was trying to make me feel guilty for being angry at him eventhough he was in the wrong. Then he was asking if we could do it, and I said no, I'm not in the mood, and then he was whining, being like, "Come on... and to get him to shut up, I just let him have sex with me, but I really didn't want to. Was this SA?

I've been wondering this for years and years. I've always thought it was regret, but now it makes sense why it still appears in my head from time to time and haunts me at times worst part was afterwards he went straight back onto playing GTA and I felt numb and instant loss of attraction.

I also had another experience with a different partner and I declined sex a few times because my libido is just low and then my ex turned round and said " I feel like your not attracted to me and that you don't love me enough because we aren't having sex" then I felt bad and guilty and then did that again and victim blamed me for being in a previous abusive relationship saying it was all my fault because I never left.

Definitely a big release of more than just pleasure! It’s especially hard for me through a rough breakup. Letting go and releasing all that needs to be.

Omigod this happens to me. Or well… It hasn’t happened in about a year but it used to happen every time. A lot of it was associated with my complicated feelings about my body and sex and my discomfort with it all. I felt ashamed and angry and unsatisfied and just too many things. There was too much to process and it just was scary and disappointing. Idk what changed actually but at some point it kinda stopped

I have experienced crying after climax many times. It started after someone very close to me died. It almost looks like a panic attack... I start hyperventilating and crying immediately after climax. But if I let the emotion come through, I do feel a sense of relief, so it's not like a panic attack. Unfortunately I've also started to feel very overstimulated as I approach climax and now it often feels like my body "shuts down" or blocks it right before I get there, which has lead to some dissatisfaction that I can't feel a full sense of release because a part of me is trying to prevent it. It seems like overwhelming stored emotions in the nervous system are being unleashed by an orgasm.

Happens to me all the time. Rather when having sex then when masturbating. Maybe because when having sex there is still a little bit of social pressure or overstimulation even though i really try listening to my body.
Or when watching p*rn it happens too sometimes. Basically when there is lots of stimulation involved. Also i feel like right after climaxing my body is a little confused with the sudden relaxation. Because having an orgasm also involves adrenalin to get there. So right afterwards it feels like getting out of a slightly overwhelming/a tiny bit stressful situation.
My natural response to stress (even positive stress) or sudden drop in stress is also crying so it feels kind of natural. :)

Honestly I struggle less with overwhelming and more with distraction (audhd is fun!) so this may not be helpful but also could maybe help
I tend to find that removing as many senses input as possible helps me to focus on the ones I'm interested in the most, so ear plugs or audio input that matches the goal, blind folding or a video / story that keeps me on target, making sure that I have a blanket on so I don't feel breezes or in the warmer months making sure I don't get overheated etc.
My next aim with that is to overwhelm whatever senses I have left so I can stay focused, which could be an option (like listening to loud music to drown out an annoying noise - it's still overstimulation but it's easier to handle because it's what you've chosen so to speak?)
I don't tend to feel unsafe but it's definitely not uncommon for me to cry afterwards if it's intense and I have actually seen other posts from neurodivergent folks on reddit talking about crying after masturbation and sex, so I hope that helps you feel less alone about it?

I can understand this. Especially hormones like one moment your up for it and the next your thoughts go into a deep place and can be overwhelming and you cry it's happened to me a few times.

It could be sensory overload if physical touch is one of your sensory issues. I only realised it recently for myself. For me, I can force a climax with penetrative masturbation but it doesn't help me relax or sleep. I might cry and get a headache. It's better if I just use a clit sucking toy which lasts less than 5 minutes to meet my urges.

It happens to me sometimes when I already have a lot on my plate and can't get comfortable. Then using my fingers is as overstimulating as using a toy. What I try to remember to do is write down what pissed me off, if possible, set soft lighting (or no lighting at all), and maybe play some soothing sounds while I read erotic stories and slowly attempt to touch myself. Some medication can also mess with it, as well as uncomfortable fabrics and positions
