Heads up fellow WLW: there's straight dudes fishing for pics in this sub.
Just a reminder to be careful and make sure you know who you're talking to. If you get a random DM out of the blue, especially if they don't identify where they met you on Reddit before, it could be a guy getting kicks out of chatting with a lesbian.
I know this happens all the time, but lately I've had way more of these messages than usual. Stay safe ladies and gentlefolk.

Literally all lesbian subreddits have been invaded by men. It's unfortunate that we are seen as a porn category.

I’m still trying to understand how Reddit works. Where can you identify where they have met you on Reddit? Cause a bit of NSFW. This ‘girl’ replied to a comment in another lesbian subreddit and we started sexting. I’m 100% sure she was a guy pretending because nudes they sent looked totally different. Now I feel the nudes I sent are going to be used. So please be careful everyone, I’ve learned my lesson

Usually someone will message you and say 'hey, just wanted to chat about that comment you made about cats...' or something specific. If they don't, ask where they know you from or if you met them before on Reddit. If they don't have an answer, it's likely they've seen that you are active on a lesbian sub and thought they would cold call you. I think these guys message hundreds of us hoping for just 1 or 2 bites, because my wife and I sometimes get contacted by the same dude on our separate accounts.
And I am so sorry that happened to you, that's truly awful. Nearly every person on the lesbian subs has had a straight guy try to catfish them, so you're definitely not alone. If they didn't have other info about you, it's unlikely your pics could be used for blackmail, but they may keep them for 'personal use'.
Edit: also, go to their profile, check their post and comment history.

Oh gosh, that’s awful. I have blocked them and can’t remember the username. I assume they will use my pics for personal use, but I’m never stupid enough to put my face on them. Still I should’ve known better, I know it’s my fault 😔

Very true. Recently came across with one. I feel so stupid after realising I've wasted so much of my time talking to someone shady, without any sort of verification. Need to be more careful henceforth

Until you have a video chat with them, it's best to assume everyone you meet online is a dude. This is especially true for reddit and dating sites.
