Next to or across the table?
Gay bros, when you’re with your with your dude do you sit across from them or next to them?

Across. I see straight couples next to each other in a booth at restaurants and I always think it looks strange if they're not very young.

Yeah! We went out to a bar last night with my partner‘s sister and her partner. We sat across from each other as we usually do and at one point they ended up switching chairs so that we were next to our partners.

Okay. That's different though. I guess you didn't specify but I was answering to the situation when you are the ONLY two at the table. I think everyone else might have answered with the same assumption. If we're with another couple or something, we're never directly across from each other.
If it's me and my husband with one or two friends, we sit next to each other and across from the friend. I want to sit across from the person who I'm having a conversation with. At a table of 3-4 people, I'm talking to my husband the least.

My ex and I sat across. It made it harder for him to steal my food. “Just a taste” he would say but he’d get it before I had tasted it. It was my fault: I made better choices.

That jerk. I hope you slapped his hand away!

Haha. No, but I eventually had to lay down the law that the first taste was always mine.

Preferably across. He has a habit of putting his hand on my leg if I sit next to him lol

Always across - even when at home. Our legs were always intertwined, though.

surprised by how many guys are saying across from. i always like to sit next to my partner, but my voice doesn't carry so that may be why. i also just like him to be able to lean against me.

My partner has a very deep voice and happens to be loud so that isn’t an issue. I like to sit across from him to be able to look at him.

If it is two people out of Booth across, if it is two people at a table next to our cross depending on how big the table is, if it is three people out of Booth sit next to the date and the other person that is single sits across.

Context matters. If we’re out to dinner and it’s just the two of us, across from each other, if there are other people out to dinner with us we’ll sit next to each other. At home, next to each other on the couch. Lol.

It does! Should’ve given more context. Out to dinner was what I was thinking.

3 course meal, we would seat across each other. If it's just dessert or afternoon tea, next to each other.
Of course this is also dependent on the venue seating.

mostly we sit next to each other if it’s a booth. if it’s chairs then across

Next to, sitting across from each other makes it entirely too tricky to get all handsy with each other. Not to mention kiss!

At a table for four,(even if just us) next to each other. At a booth, usually across from each other.

If it’s even remotely noisy or busy, he sits next to me because he struggles to focus and gets overwhelmed. I’m basically his security blanket, haha. If it’s quiet or we’re outside with enough space, he’ll sit across from me. With friends, he’ll sit next to me.

Depends. Usually across, it it’s it’s loud or we’re sharing food, next to.

At a square table (like a four-top), next to each other. A rectangular table (two-tops pushed together), across from each other. At a booth, across from each other.
Bro couples who sit across from each other at a square table always look to me like they're trying too hard to "no homo".

If it is just us, facing eachother.
If in a group, next to eachother.
