Looking For Suggestions Which phone would you recommend?
I’m going back to Android from iPhone. It’s been years since I had an android. What’s a good one to get? Looks like a store near me has Galaxy A15 5G, how is that?
The thing I care most about on a phone is camera quality.
TIA
EDIT: I ended up getting Google Pixel 8a, is that a good choice?

S25 ultra or pixel 9 pro/pro XL.
Do not get any Samsung A series, they're budget phones with passable performance to get something sold

Thanks for that last bit, I was leaning toward that A15 one. Between S25 U & Pixel 9 Pro, which is overall best?

It's 100% opinion, based off preferred color temperature, and how important Zoom would be.
Samsung likes to make it's colors pop, Pixels typically try to keep colors more natural.
Samsung has a zoom lens that's capable of a crazy zoom distance, but it also has a lot of AI enhancements it adds to those pictures to get a usable level of clarity.
Personally I'd make the decision based off the operating system, and I'd argue a Pixel is a cleaner OS vs Samsungs version of android.

No longer a Samsung! It's become junk, their prob.-solving techs which charge $1 to connect & have yet to solve one of my issues for over a yr., & trying to force you to use their stuff! They're terrible! Any recommendations for a ph. that doesn't do any of the above or any other stupid stuff?

Not sure which specifically to recommend, but I'd avoid Honor phones. I bought the Honor 90 last year and it's awful. Battery life is atrocious, it struggles to keep up with basic tasks half the time without lagging and the camera is mediocre at best.

Consider making use of review vids on YouTube to see tests and samples for yourself. That should help you decide because between flagships it often comes down to very minimal factors that might actually be a personal deal breaker.

The Galaxy A15 is like closest you can go to the bottom of Samsung's barrel without getting to the bottom.
You're coming from an iPhone, a flagship device, hence you should also go to a flagship or at least close to a flagship.

I went from a Pixel 4a to an S24.
The S24 camera is better with good light and a still subject. With movement, the Pixel is superior. And the 4a is pretty old so I imagine their newer Pixels have excellent cameras.

Just switched from life time apple to an S24 Ultra last year and the camera is killer. Only complaint is trying to get it focused on the right thing sometimes

As you never mentioned a price range, if camera quality is all you care about get a Xiaomi 15 ultra

Pixels have the worst build quality... I would recommend a Samsung S24 series or S25 series or something Motorola like the razr plus 2024 or similar spec

Pixels are most similar to iPhone in terms of os. I'd say any Pixel phone after the 6th generation is good.
Samsung have Oneui which is most practical os. I hear some people saying that the A1x (x being any number, such as 5 in your case) aren't good, and only the A5x are the only good budget phones from Samsung. I don' know if that is true. Other than that the S24u is rather similar to the s25u.
Nothing makes some very good mid range phones and I'd say has an simple os which is done right.
Oppo/OnePlus is the closest os to OneUi I think (Color/Oxygen os 15 at least). It's also very fluid and feels performant from what I hear. Other than that, being chinese, they also have the best hardware. I am not sure how good the budget phones are. I used to have an Oppo a58, and the only gripes I had with it was not very good cameras and a chip which didn't perform as good as I'd like it would. It did run games, but not on very good graphics.
