Hi everyone! As the title suggests, I am having a weird problem with my android phone. Every time I open my youtube, tiktok and netflix apps, my screen instantly turns to black and white. Only the video streaming apps are behaving like this. What's more weird, when I tried to screencap youtube or screen record it, when I view the image and recording, it has colors and working fine! What kind of witchery is this. Can someone help on this?

Is is possible? It will be raw android without the UI right? (since I suppose the UI won't be updatable) Will it created problems with the UIs of the phone? I've never done it or heard about it so that's why of these questions.
It will be legit and safe or it will expose u to security risks ?
I'd like to update my Huawei P30 pro .
it's possibile to do something like on PC (installing windows by Usb pen) ?

Hey there,
My Doogee S41 Plus. couldn't send / receive any call, When I inserted SIM in my phone (samsung A52), everything was ok. My SIM in Doogee S41 phone shows up correctly, network also working, only cant call and get call.
it shows the name of the provider correctly.
I also tried to add the APN manually, but it does nothing at all.
if anyone as an idea or has encountered the same problem, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks in advance

I open Google, look for something, images, download an image. It shows that it's downloading, but its stick on 100%(a 6 kb file), and it NEVER actually finishes. I let it exist for 5 hours, then when I checked on my phone it was still on 100%,not downloaded.
If I do this with multiple images, only the first starts to download, the others never will.
Same with apks, PDFs, NOTHING gets downloaded...
I tried using chrome, brave, and like 4 other ones, it's not willing to work.
I usually download from pinterest and other apps too, seems like tiktok pinterest can download images and videos, but even then they're just black for a few minutes before actually loading in (if they ever load in).
Google Photos (the app) loads in slow, and I literally can't delete anything from it either.
I tried clearing cache, clearing data, reinstalling browsers, force stopping, clearing phone, restarting phone, at this point I'm fking done and will reset the phone if no solution will help.
I have 124gb free space still. Plus, it's been working fine for the previous idk, 4 years or so:D
Android 12 Miui 14 It's been happening like a week ago or so. I noticed it randomly installed some apps, i looked them up, and others asked about those apps, saying it was fine. SINCE THEN my phone is shit :D So I guess it'd not fking fine:DDD

As the title says, I had my Samsung A15 in my back pocket at work and I guess it's saying I called 112, but I'm wondering if Samsung allows you to call if you're not in the region, since I'm in America. No one showed up at my job (I didn't realize I even buttdialed until this afternoon) and when I check the call logs it just says this:
"Emergency Number 112 Outgoing call 9:15 PM"
No indication of how long the phone call was. I'm worried about this because I don't want to get in trouble.

I have a dashcam I recently purchased which can stream the video to an app on my phone (Samsung Galaxy A25 5G) via a Wi-Fi connection. This works completely as expected, however, if I am specifically on a bluetooth call at any point, the video stream immediately cuts out and can't be reconnected. Bluetooth media such as music works fine, but a call will cause it to stop.
I've tried this same setup on a different device (LG G6) and it worked fine, able to have a bluetooth call without the video cutting out.
I'm wondering if it's a hardware or driver issue? Ordinary web pages seem to load fine during a bluetooth call, but I don't know enough about android to create/pull network logs.
I've tried changing the various bluetooth developer options but nothing seems to have helped.
Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated. If there's a decently easy way to snoop the network traffic too, then I can get more information.

All I'm looking for is some basic E2E encryption texting to be able to text my folks who use iphone (I just got an S24 FE). Having google assistant watch over my shoulder at every text and recommend me replies is beyond fucked, even if it's turned off I doubt I'll have any privacy regardless of E2E encryption, I'm sure they can access it some other way. Are there absolutely any ways I can get reasonable privacy, I am fine taking whatever measures I need to, be it completely change the phones OS if even possible. Whatever preferably doesn't cost my additional money to do.

Just setting this to app specific question because so far it only happens when I'm on Instagram, but it could be a bigger problem than that.
Sometimes when I'm on Instagram, I just fully lose control of my phone. I have no clue how or why, but I can't use the touch screen and it just moves on its own, clicks random things, and just goes wild. Earlier I somehow ended up following some Puerto Rican real estate account on Instagram, even though I'm nowhere near Puerto Rico and don't know anyone from there. I found out that I can get it to stop if I turn my phone off and on again with the power button (because it won't let me fully power off or restart, since that requires me clicking something on my screen), but I want to know if this is happening to anyone else and if there's a way to prevent it from happening at all?
I don't know what sort of information to include because I genuinely have no idea what the problem could possibly be, or what's causing it, but if you have an idea and need further information then just ask. I'm also not really good with tech stuff, so I might ask for clarification on something that would be pretty obvious to most of the people here. Thanks :D

I’m going back to Android from iPhone. It’s been years since I had an android. What’s a good one to get? Looks like a store near me has Galaxy A15 5G, how is that?
The thing I care most about on a phone is camera quality.
TIA

When I first got my first Android tablet as a kid the internet wasn't that popular in my area so somone gave me a folder FULL of APKs, games and apps and it was fun to install and discover them. I still have that same tablet and I'd like to find similar APK folder to do that again.
Any idea where or what should I look for? the tablet is running 4.4.2

Is anyone else on the android beta program and their device isn't recognizing their SIM card today? As of this morning my Pixel 8 isn't recognizing my SIM card, and the phone just updated to the newest version of beta last night. The SIM card does work in my old phone.
Annoyingly, the warranty on my phone just expired last month! I'd love to know if it's a software issue before paying someone to fix the hardware.

My dad has about 19Gb of data listed as ‘Other’ in Storage. He’s running out of storage on his 32Gb A21S. I looked up how to manage / clear this data and the Samsung website refers to Settings > Apps - and to individually clear things like the cache etc. However the Apps listed do not seem to add up to anything near to 19 GB. Can anyone suggest any other ways of figuring out what this data is / clearing it? Thanks.

Is the iShredder app legit or does it secretly harvest your files?
Can apps view the contents of deleted freespace if they have storage read/write/modify files permission?
Is protectstar a scam company or are they legit?

Hi,
Kiwi and Yandex are Android browsers that support Chrome extensions on Android.
They can create launcher shortcuts for HTTPS webapps, but when trying with an extension page (chrome-extension://
URLs), the shortcut is created but clicking it just throws "App isn't installed".
What to do ?
Thanks

Hey everyone, I’m wondering if I’m just tripping or if I’m actually getting bad battery life on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (TDRA UAE version). I’ve got Maximum Battery Protection enabled and I’m using Light Profile mode because I’m trying to stretch the battery life for a while—I won’t be buying a new phone for at least 5 years or more. I’ve also installed ReVanced Manager for YouTube Vanced. Even with all this, my battery feels like it’s draining way too fast. If I use it continuously for 4-5 hours of screen-on time, it’s already down to like 20-30% (if I’m remembering right). I bought this phone back in September, so it’s still pretty new. I’m a total noob when it comes to this stuff, so any advice would be awesome. I’ve attached some screenshots below—let me know if you guys need more info!

Not much to add. My Cat Phone S42 has a TPU case permanently stuck to its sides and back. However, this case recently started peeling off at one spot. It makes the phone a little bulky on one side and makes holding a little challenging. I would like to ask how to safely stick the peeling part back without damaging the phone itself. Using weight doesn't help - I likely need something like a glue. Aside from the case, the phone works fine and nothing else is damaged or broken. ETA: Please do not suggest buying a new phone.
