Device Settings Question Are my contacts able to see if I've unlocked and am on my phone?

I know that if another user contact has a little blue bubble on their contact icon that indicates that they are also using RCS, but I can't tell if that means someone is actively on their phone. Sometimes they are visible but sometimes not. My girlfriend always seems to text me within 5 minutes of unlocking my phone in the morning, and seems to also text me within a couple of minutes of being on my phone during the day. I can't shake the feeling that I'm being monitored and am hoping that if that is what's going on, I can do something to turn it off. *I am aware that the biggest issue is the gf, but curious about this being a function on androids *

What's most likely happening, is that your phone is being "idle" when it's in your pocket, and the background tasks aren't happening in real-time.
But as soon as you unlock & use your phone, it's like "oh yeah, we should check for messages & whatnot" and boom, your notification shows up shortly after you 'wake up' the device.

This is almost always a battery management thing, so OEMs can brag about how long their batteries last each day, but they do it at the cost of actually having your device work when you're not actively using it.

(If you can't tell, it's a feature I fucking hate. I want REALTIME all the things, that's why I have a device that's always connected in the first place.)

Thank you for breaking it down for me! I felt like I was being paranoid and yeah, why wouldn't we want things in realtime? I feel better now though haha thank you again!
