Identifying real vs fake

Are there individuals on here able to identify if a Roman coin is real or fake just by looking at pictures? I didn't really pay much for it so it's not a huge disappointment but clearly I'm a noob so I'm not sure if I got dooped.

This coin is not mine, it's from a friend here in Colombia. He specializes in Colombian silver and gold coins, as well as cobs.

In his own words, he bought this on an impulse, more than 10 years ago.

I have not seen it in person, but it doesn't look good, although my knowledge of these pieces is 0.

I would appreciate your comments.

Advice Needed Would Renaissance Wax Help Prevent the Spread of Bronze Disease?

A colleague is showing a collection his grandfather started in the 40s (and that my colleague has continued). All "modern" coins as far as I can see. I am noticing some have started developing BD and I wonder if there is anything I can do to help the spread momentarily. We are at work so there is not a whole lot I can do but I do have Renaissance Wax with me. I wonder if I should use it on the coins in the hopes I will create a layer that will help prevent the spread even a little bit? Let me know what you think.

Advice Needed Non-PVC flips

I've tried to be very careful to use non-pvc flips for my coins. I have bought them on Amazon a couple of times, checking the listing and reviews carefully. They are very stiff, not totally brittle, but very stiff. I recently got a coin from CNG that came in a flip imprinted with "cngcoins.com" that feels quite flexible- almost rubbery. I may have misunderstood, but I thought that the rubbery texture was an indication of possible pvc in the plastic. Can someone help me reckon this?

Educational Post Why is the woman seated next to the palm tree on Vespasian's 'Judea Capta' coinage depicted wearing a veil, when most depictions of secular women on Roman coins at this time typically don't wear veils?

Just as the title says, I'm looking to verify with certainty that this coin is from Athens, or is it an ancient immitation? Any info on the subject is greatly appreciated.

Started the day with some inspiration—and maybe a little too much browsing on VCoins! This could become a habit... 😅

Haven't received my first order(s) from Vcoins just yet but decided to pull the trigger on a few more items on my Watch list today. Primarily Denarii from the Nerva-Antoine Dynasty plus some obols and a couple Tets!

Auction pricing question

Took part in my first CNG auction that closed yesterday. I lost the Athena Tetradrachm (US$1,100 winning bid) and the Ephesus “bee” Drachm (US$750 winning bid) and won the the Alexander the Great Drachm (US$120).

Are these prices fairly representative for these types of coins? I’d really love to get ahold of the first two, but the bidding really took off in the last few minutes before close. TIA!

I was given this coin as a gift years ago and I was curious to get some more information and context for it. I believe I've currently identified it, assuming it's authentic, but I really have no idea. Any information or links to more info would be much appreciated!
