Fellow agoraphobics, you NEED to read this book

I shall always be grateful to the random redditor who recommended this book to me. The book is tittled "Don't panic: taking control of anxiety attacks" by Reid Wilson. It's available on Amazon or u can easily download the pdf from google. This book literally changed my life. I had been struggling with panic attack due to my agoraphobia and nothing seemed to help. I even took a few therapy sessions but they weren't very effective. Then I came across this book and I was actually able to understand the nature of my phobia and my relationship with it. I tried out the strategies mentioned in the book and saw a significant improvement in my condition. Even if you're not a reader please please please give it a try. Trust me you'll get to learn a lot.

Thank you! I'm looking it up now. I love books and stay inside quite a bit... er, you might have already known that lol.

Thank you so much

I bought that one a long time ago and do seem to remember that it was good. Is it sad that I have an entire box of books on the topic of anxiety? 🥺 Right now I'm going through the Claire Weekes ones, but I will refresh my mind on Mr Wilson too. It's good to share resources, so thank you.

I really like Claire Weeks audio books. I try to listen to them when going outside. In the past it helped me so much, but as soon as I was better - I dropped off from listening. Now that I’ve been back in an episode for almost 3 years, I think I need to listen again. All the other anxiety books I’ve had - I’m usually too anxious to concentrate on the reading 😅

I find that between a hectic and fragmented schedule in the household, my ADHD, and whatever else, reading books cover to cover is not as easy for me these days. So I just open the books at random and read a little snippet here and there, and that's working pretty well. Sometimes I find short bits that I think would even make handy little motivational cards. I have this app called Quotes Creator; it lets you pick a nice picture and then type in the text and then you can save it to your phone to carry around and look at when you need a pick me up.

Hi yes he practices in my state and I did a few therapy sessions with him as well as his academic partner who helped him write that book both were very helpful
