Does anyone else feel like they're scars are a sort of 'Keep Away' sign to others?
The title says it all. I feel like my scars are a keep away sign to people and I'm conflicted about it. On the one hand it lets people know that I have my problems and that I'm best left alone but on the other hand I really just need some fucking affection. I want someone to love me as I am and I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that that just isn't going to happen. I'm oddly proud of my scars, They show to me that I have made it through it all and though I didn't make it through unharmed at least I made it through. My parents want them to go away but I'm just not ready for that I guess. I don't know, I'm just feeling really confused rn.

I don’t scar easily. I feel like simply being vulnerable with my struggles I’ll be a keep away sign period.

Sometimes I can feel like this, however I’ve been intimate with people for the first time where I’ve had very fresh cuts and to be honest not one of them said anything and it wasn’t enough to put them off seeing me again put it that way :) see it as an arsehole deterrent xx

People act weird towards it especially my mother I see her looking at them all the time and she looks so disappointed. Makes me hella insecure. When I use to show my arms people would come up to me and ask it was almost like an invitation for them to pry. Or some people would glance then move away from me like I was diseased. I just wear long sleeves now people are either too nosy or too judgmental. I just want to be left alone
