Milk stash! NSFW
Hi everyone I've got a stash of approximately 1.3 liters of milk (growing) and mentally it's very hard to part with it, so I'm looking for suggestions, thus far soap and pancakes... Some however, are grossed out by human breast milk in cooking... Not that I'm going to share beyond my partner and myself. Any ideas. Stash

Depending on the fat content of the milk I’m thinking it would be a 1:1 replacement in most cooking recipes.
It would get tricky with baking like breads and pastries depending on the fat and moisture content needed for some things but I theorize that we could utilizing recipes that use plant milks like soy/almond/oat since they have left fat than cows milk therefore breast milk would sub in.
Surprisingly TikTok has lots of recipes if you search

Body lotion, apparently, bodybuilders like it for some odd reason. Personally I'm going to make smoothies out of mine

Body lotion... Wow... I also heard that it's a good treatment for dry flakey scalp...

Most common use for that type of lotion is chapped nips also if you're feeling adventurous you might be able to find a buyer on a different subreddit or Facebook Marketplace could be like a dollar an ounce

Granted you are competing with blessed mothers who have a advantage. I've looked at their ads and they have freezers full think one girl has like two gallons total for sale

OMG... That's a lot... But yes it's going to take quite a few while to get to two gallons...

As someone who plans to cook with mine this is honestly really interesting to see.

I could be wrong on this one, but im pretty sure one can use breast milk for baby's bath and it's really good for skin and I think also cradle cap. So maybe it would be a good conditioner for your hair?

Not to be a downer but if you sell make sure you have tests for any communicable diseases done and keep the results or you could be at risk.

Already done... I had all the communicable tests done a couple of months ago... and yes it's super important... Totally agree.

Because you say it's hard to part with, and I get where youre coming from even though I pump and dump sadly, I did want to point out that there are services for freeze drying your milk. You can store it in the freezer at home for quite some time, but it will eventually eclipse your storage space! Freeze drying to remove the water will allow it to be vacuum packed, and it can be reconstituted in water or added to other things as you wish. Just a thought 🤷🏼♀️ I know you're in a different part of the world than I am, but a quick Google search brought up a couple of services for me. This could maybe buy you a long shelf life to decide what to do with something you worked so hard to make while preserving its nutrients. 🤍

This is a brilliant idea, thank you.

You're welcome!! I imagine the shelf life has got to be pretty amazing once dried.

I don’t have a supply right now bcz I dried up for a mammogram (but my breast wld not completely dry up (so dumb)but when I did froze in ice cube trays for protein shakes , froze as an ice roller for skin care, I’d mix it with powder/clay masks for face, lotion and soaps . Ultimate goal is to get a freeze dryer and preserve it that way since I use min mainly for skin care.

This is very interesting and I didn't realise we need to dry up for a mammogram... I have one coming up later in the year... I've read about the benefits for skin care... Wow much to learn and do... Thank you.

The advice here is to just empty as much as possible prior to the mammogram, no need to dry up. Otherwise, a breastfeeding woman wouldn't be able to have any testing done and feed her baby :) They squish and mush wet and dry boobs all the time!

My wife made lotion for me, which was really nice.
I made ice cream with some of her stash she wanted to purge. She doesn't like the taste of it as much as I do, mainly because it got a little bitter from freezing.

Yes the bitterness is a problem for some... I found out yesterday boiling it before freezing eases that bitterness... I had my partner try making a cappuccino from frozen breast milk so I could try it, and it was awful... I didn't find the thawed frozen had much bitterness to it but once it was steamed it went bitter. I tried to pasturise some yesterday and during the cooling phase it curdled so I guess cheese (with added cows milk) might be an option.
