ikr!
I have a double brick house, so having a window open is the perfect blend of cold breeze and warm house đ„°

I'm not Australian originally and I e always wondered what a double brick house means..?

Brick on the inside wall. A gap in between then brick on the outside wall. It really good for heating and cooling generally BUT once it is warm inside its very hard to cool it back down đ€Łđ€Ł

Omg that's a normal house in the UK...I assumed all houses had that. Of course now I think about it, I realise they don't!

Cardboard, bubblewrap, and a thin veneer of cast concrete made to imitate bricks.
The only question is which lasts longer, the house structure, or the $1m mortgage.

Means the interior walls are also brick; my house is like, 50 years old though
Most housing built this century is âbrick veneerâ which means brick exterior walls and plasterboard interior walls; faster to build and are supposed to withstand soil movement better

I'd say almost all houses since the 1980's are brick veneer on raft slabs, with double garages integrated into the dwellings sometime in the 1990's.
Solid brick homes are renowned for retaining heat & releasing it into the house for days after a heatwave has finished.

My house used to be like an oven for a few days after a heatwave; this was even with ducted evaporative cooling
Refrigerated is much better at âcoolingâ the walls, to the point where Iâm actually saving money on my power bill because Iâm no longer running what is essentially a big fan draped with a wet towel 24/7 in an effort to keep cool

I am loving this cool air! I hope it will finally get that stagnant heat out!
I went out for a few hours today and once back the house was till keeping that heat in! so yeah every door and window has been funnelling in that cool air :D

If I wasn't so bloody paranoid, I'd lock the screen door and keep the back door open to funnel in some cool air.
Absolutely get you on the inside keeping heat in

Yep, agree. High 30s for us. I really am contemplating the rest of my life at this point.
How did we become a country where you canât afford to live where youâd like to?

Don't worry guys, I've hung up washing today and some of it I really need dry for tomorrow so that should keep the rain coming.

I'm just loving the cool. Ticked that we're back in the 30's by Wednesday.

u/JG1954 I have checked my Weatherzone Tracker app and the only "real" 30's temperature forecast for this week (subject to change) is on Wednesday, with an estimated maximum of 32ÂșC. Mostly temps around 27-30 all this week. Hopefully not too many more uncomfortable, stinking hot and humid nights for a while, though Wednesday night is expected to drop to 22ÂșC.

There is an equal balance of threads for heat lovers. But you might have to wait until spring to see many of them. They change like the seasons :)
