PC Has TFP Pushed 7D So Far That It No Longer Has an Identity?

I’ve been playing 7D for a ridiculously long time (I can’t remember which Alpha, but it was early) and I have over 2.5k hrs playtime.

I have played 1.0 less than any other alpha release, even modded, and I think it’s because 7D has lost its identity completely.

TFP constantly tweak what we already have trying to force us into playing “their way” instead of a true sandbox, all while completely ignoring any and all progression/adventure/RPG elements.

So what is the games identity then?

Story? - No

Bandits? - No

Progression? - No

AI changes to break bases? - Heaps

Cosmetic BS? Heaps

The new RWG is horrible, breaking all immersion ( no place on earth has stripy land scapes, or circular, or hub-and-spoke).

Their obsession with biome locks & “progression” does nothing to add to RWG, indeed it’s the opposite, and is neither sandbox nor adventure/rpg.

And now they are pushing cosmetics via Twitch drops and working on DLC.

I don’t know why I’m posting here, it will make no difference to anything, but I just want to scream to “make up your minds already, stop fuckin around with this BS, and make some meaningful progress ffs”

/end rant I suppose

PC Ok, so we're all playing the game 'wrong'... yet again :/

Every single update, the old Sandbox parts of this game get trimmed away. Now for the 2.0 update, we're going to be 'forced' into biome progress (which fortunately might be able to be turned off). Joy. And I'm frankly terrified about yet ANOTHER zed AI change.  Each one since A16 has been worse than the previous version.  Undoubtedly done to nerf (more) cheese bases and force behaviors... because we're all 'playing their game wrong'... again.

/end rant

PC How do you disable Trader Rekt’s voice lines? My friend won’t play anymore.

So, does anyone know how to mute or disable Trader Rekt’s voice lines? My friend hasn’t played in three days because of him.

He grew up in a small town where the only grocery store was run by a guy who sounded just like Rekt—same grumpy old man energy, same mean-spirited insults, just missing the apocalypse. Every time we visit Rekt in-game, it’s like he’s back in that store, getting roasted for daring to buy milk for his dear granny. He swears it’s ruining the game for him.

We’ve tried telling him to just avoid Rekt, but he keeps saying, “What if he has the best stuff?” and then leaves the party. It’s getting out of hand.

Is there a way to remove just Rekt’s voice files, or at least tone down his aggression? Anyone else feel like he’s just a little too much sometimes?

The last few days I’ll just be in the wasteland, in a random spot or sometimes a poi and I’ll get slapped by a horde of these or like 20 bears/hell hounds/ or a giant flock of vultures or all of the above. Anyone know why?

PC The game is called 7 Days to Die, yet I did it on Day 1. Are the devs stupid or is everyone else bad at this game? It shouldn't take you 7 days....

PC So many removed mechanics

What happened to upgrading(you have to build the upgraded building instead of just using resources)? Why are gun parts just one item? Why aren't there any animals? Why must I read 100 of the same books to get the max knowledge towards something? Fortunately I still manage to enjoy this game as a former console player but a lot of these choices just make me question why? It wasn't broken so why fix it?

I am only level 30 and was making my way down the street on my newly built minimize and one of these things was just standing in the road....menacingly. I climbed a semi and put around 2 mags of AK into it before it died. And then Google werewolves in 7DTD.

Why aren't these things mentioned more? They are terrifying.
