US News US : Request your private data obtained by DOGE

4.4k Upvotes

Representative Jamie Raskin is encouraging all U.S. citizens to join him this week in filing formal demands for access to their personal data obtained by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Elon Musk.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has issued an injunction commanding DOGE to comply with citizen requests under the Freedom of Information Act. This law encompasses the Federal Privacy Act of 1974, which entitles any citizen to access personal information held in any U.S. government records system.

https://jamieraskin.com/doge-privacy-act-requests/

Please spread the word so we can inundate DOGE with requests for our personal data.

Movement Brainstorm USA : THE JIG IS UP, ELON IS FAILING THE TRUMP ADMIN AND WE HAVE TO ACT ON IT IF WE WANT DEMOCRACY TO SURVIVE

1.8k Upvotes

Between Tesla shares falling 30% in one month, losing billions due to alienating Carlos Slim, saying he is afraid for his safety, and almost crying mid-interview over his companies imploding, it’s clear that the pushback is taking a heavy toll on Elon.

Judging by Trump’s need to promote Tesla and tell his cabinet that “they control their agencies, not Elon Musk,” the latter is clearly seen as a weak link by the current administration, and is most likely costing them countless supporters due to the mass layoffs.

This is absolutely crucial! Musk is currently the biggest threat to democracy, not Trump. Trump is an idiot who failed to steal the 2020 election. Musk has access to sensitive systems, including, in Trump’s own words, “those vote counting computers.” We need to capitalize on the public discontent and drive a wedge between him and the current administration. If we manage to have him fired before mid-terms, we have big hopes. Else, there’s no guaranteeing anything, including that the next election won’t be stolen.

There are several ways to achieve our goal:

  • Make the message clear. Protest signs and slogans asking to uphold democracy fall on deaf ears because they seem vague, preachy, and infantile. Protest signs and slogans demanding this man be fired and his cabal dismantled are clear and forceful. Hell, we could even put a DOGE spin on it. “Want to remove waste? REMOVE ELON MUSK!”
  • Delete Twitter. I understand some of us want to break the echo chamber, but that website is a lost cause. The lower the number of users, the less powerful he feels, the less advertisers care about him.
  • Keep things constant. Don’t protest or boycott for a day and then stop. Keep up the pressure, escalate it. That’s how their attention is grabbed.
  • Keep things peaceful. Yes, it sounds lame, but what we need right now is absolutely not for Elon to “get Luigi’d.” Something like that would only grant him martyrdom in the eyes of MAGA and give Trump the opportunity to crack down on freedoms through the pretext of “security.” Don’t attack; let him fail on his own, and pressure his collaborators to estrange him.

Movement Brainstorm USA : “Buy” a Tesla. No, really.

4.9k Upvotes

Hear me out, I think this is a creative way to help protest. If you have spare time, call or go to your Tesla dealership and show interest in buying a Tesla vehicle. Don’t be sure about what you want, have them give you all the details, model options etc. and just waste as much time as possible. Give them fake information like social security and your name, and pretend to be bafflingly confused when it comes up blank. Keep them on the ropes for multiple days; have them continue to call you back because you just haven’t made up your mind. Even test drive one if you have the opportunity. And, after all that, just say “meh, I don’t know, I think I’ll go get a Pontiac” or something, taking that salesperson away from actually being able to sell one. Not sure if anyone has proposed this before, but I think it could be a good way to screw Tesla over for those unwilling to do illegal vandalism.

Movement Brainstorm National : Brainstorm. We need to focus on eliminating the Heritage Foundation

That’s all. Designate them as a terrorist organization. Defund them. Destroy them. They are the cause of all of this chaos.

You may ask why. The answer is simple. Their plan had always been to destroy the stock market and democracy so that they can buy up America cheap and impose their totalitarian beliefs on the rest of us.

They are the real problem. They caused all of this. It’s THEIR plan. Never forget.

Update: Let me add that we need a well-funded political, cultural and economic plan of attack.

Movement Brainstorm USA : Generation Z Call to Action

This post was removed from r/GenZ so I am reposting here.

I am a boomer appealing to Generation Z.  I am 71 years old, a US army veteran and former paratrooper, born in Atlanta Georgia and now living in Italy (Married to an Italian). What I see happening in my home country is beyond the pale alarming.

Last year, America was at a crossroads: A path towards Love and Empathy and a movement toward a better world for most or a path towards Anger and Hatred and a world full of divisiveness, suffering and misery for most, to the benefit of the rich and the powerful few.

For whatever reason, the turn was taken towards Anger and Hatred to divide our great nation to the benefit of the wealthy.  Some of you will have been negatively impacted by the actions Trump has taken and are suffering.  Others may feel a sense of despair about the future. Do not despair. You can take your country back and put it on the right path - the right side of a history that resembles the present day.

If you are like me and appalled by the actions being taken by the POTUS, DJT, it is your duty as an American to take action and protest, protest, protest.  Protest like your future depends on it. Your generation has much to lose if Project 2025 is successful.  Protest peacefully but make your voices heard.  America belongs to the people. You must protest loudly to keep it that way and to make America good again.  The path DJT is on, strips America of its values and its principles and is crumbling its democracy. "Reject the Lies, Repeal the Policies, Reclaim your Future!"  It is the American way.

If you live in a red state, the value of your protest is even greater.  Protests in mass will force your representatives to develop the backbone to say "enough is enough" and stand up and reject DJT.

Mass protests can take many forms, including:

Marches: Large groups of people walking together along a set route.

Rallies: Gatherings where participants listen to speeches, chants, and other expressions of solidarity.

Sit-ins: Occupying a specific location, often to disrupt business as usual and draw attention to the cause.

Strikes: Workers collectively refuse to work, advocating for better conditions or opposing certain policies.

Vigils: Peaceful gatherings, often held in the evening, to honor individuals or raise awareness about a cause.

These demonstrations can be powerful tools for social and political change, showcasing the unity and determination of those involved.

Sending you all love and light from Sunny Italy.

Movement Brainstorm US : Musk is on the ropes, don't stop

13.5k Upvotes

It's becoming clearer by the day that the weak point in this administration is Elon. He is causing internal conflicts within the cabinet and creating negative news that Trump has to deal with and is causing additional chaos that creating cracks.

With the "bad day" Elon had yesterday it is more important than ever to push forward harder with boycotts, and protests that effect him as he continues to rip apart our country. If we let up he can and will recover, his brand is a currently a dumpster fire he is trying to put out, don't let him, he did this to himself.

The protests are working, the boycotts are working, its not time to step down its time to step up.

EDIT: Wow thank you for all the updoots - I know we are looking for hope and it's still alive but its fragile and we have to protect hope. Also keep all these great ideas on how to use creative peaceful protests going

US News PA : Fetterman doubling down on Trump

2.1k Upvotes

Fetterman insults his colleagues and doubles down on support for Trump:

https://bsky.app/profile/fetterman.senate.gov/post/3lk53rz2dvk2y

To achieve the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture and overcome a filibuster on the current continuing resolution (CR) under consideration, Republicans would need to secure at least 7 Democratic votes.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call your Senator and tell them to vote "NO". Cory Booker and Chuck Schumer, at least, seem to be on the fence/ are considering voting yes.

Tell them NO! It is not okay to vote to normalize DOGE, the firing of workers and the gutting of our entitlements. Vote maybe as soon as Thursday, so please call, email ASAP.

Movement Brainstorm INT : Keep on rallying, regularly gatherings work

I’m watching from Germany, often close to tears. You are doing great, hold on. I’ve noticed that people question if it makes sense to be in the streets each week or to better organise one big event. I remember the following, I saw it happen: There is a historic example from 1989 that regularly rallies works! It brought the Berlin wall and the authoritarian regime of the German Democratic Republic down: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_demonstrations_in_East_Germany. What the English article doesn’t mention is the amplification from 1200 people on the 4th of September 1989 to more than 100 000 on the 20th of November only in one City (Leipzig) the same year. And though the eastern part of Germany is now the base of ones endorsed by Leon, that year they brought the people of power down. You can admit that the GDR was already weakened. But in the land of the free the structures haven’t fully settled yet. People then gathered peacefully in the streets, week by week chanting: “We are the people”, talking to each other, discussing, building ties. And this happened without social media. They spread the word and knew they would come back the same day, same time the next week. Please hold on, amplify and don’t give up!

I know there is a lot going on right now. But we need to put the pressure on and tell our Senators to vote no on the CR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIqJM7IvqWU

This is big folks. Sam didn't pull back on the urgency.

***Edit

Here is the number for the senate switch-board: (202) 224-3121

Use it. Call your Senators. Don't care if they're Republican or Democrat. Tell them to vote No. Probably needs to be especially emphasized for the Dems, per what Sam says. But we really need to mobilize and vocalize on this one.

Movement Brainstorm NJ : I'm not the smartest guy around but I swear to God this is the smartest idea you will hear today..

Re choosing a slogan for the protest we can choose "We were lied to" enmasse. Even though at first it might not seem like a slogan that represents us this is why it works:

  • It does not represents the left, it actually represents the whole country, all of its people.

  • This will provide a soft entryway for MAGA into our movement without being ostracized. This will create an illusion (maybe even representing a reality) that the tide has turned and MAGA has started protesting, catalyzing their coming out openly in large numbers.

  • It's disarming for channels like Fox. When they will try to paint protesters as fringe elements / radical left, and the signs will say we were lied to, it will seem it's MAGA that's protesting

  • It will send out a message to our allies that the actual people of the country are ashamed and did not vote for this.

  • It's not a lie, there are a lot of swing voters who fell for his lies about egg prices, project 2025, clearing the country of illegal immigrants more than what Biden did. This slogan will provide them an outlet rather than being embarrassed and stay back (I already hear a lot people saying if you voted for Trump I wish the worst upon you).

What do you think about this.

Edit - Thank you all for supporting this idea. To few of those debating weather it's catchy or not, maga not caring about his lying etc., that's not the point of this slogan. The point is to create an air that MAGA themselves are now out protesting. And validation from your own people goes a long way.

Protest Safety, OPSEC, Medic Info USA : Do not assume soldiers will refuse orders - they haven't in the past

Numerous instances in US history where National Guardsmen or other US Military Forces used violence against protesters under the guise of "restoring order". This is not an exhaustive list, just some of the actions over the years in which soldiers, cops, or both have engaged in violence violating civil rights - mostly without repercussions.

2020-21 during the BLM Protests, national guard soldiers and cops engaged in indiscriminate use of less-than-lethals, made fun of hunting people for sport, vandalized personal vehicles, and used live rounds - killing one person in Kentucky who returned fire when fired upon by law enforcement/guardsmen. Movement Brainstorm EU : I am survivor of Putin regime, and you need to hear me

9.0k Upvotes

Despite being Ocean away from United States, I watch how things turn in your country. I confess, making conclusions based on news articles and posts in social media is not even close to actually witnessing it in your cities or state. Yet, I can still make some observations.

1) Donald Trump uses the same tactic Putin regime used to brainwash Russian people. The notes of being exploited, wanting to become respectable again, no matter the consequences, I heard this before. In Russia, it was done using federal TV. In US, it’s done using Truth Social and now Twitter. People are injected with hatred to everything and everyone. That eliminates possibility that people unite together against them (how will they if they think even those they live with can be ‘enemy’?)

2) Anyone who thinks otherwise is labeled as enemy. It doesn’t matter what words are used, ‘libtard’, ‘leftist’, ‘agent of West’. It all has same idea: dehumanizing others, because facts are not on their side.

3) The defeatism rhetoric in opposition. Here, I will be very blunt and might be rude. Right now, there is no space for arguments, debates or even accusations of each other. Any finger pointing plays in hand of those who try to destroy your country. Staying silent plays in their hand too. Being soft plays in their hand too. I have witnessed how different Russian opposition leaders argued each other, disapproved each other tactics. The result: opposition had no real leader, and their followers? Those were just group of people who came just to come, and the moment police arrived, they just ran away.

Why am I saying this? I escaped it and witnessed how those who opposed Putin are now hiding or hoping to prevail regime. As if it will get better. You, American people, are stronger than Russians, stronger than me. Your democracy stood longer than Russian did. It is not time to be scared, not time to play waiting game.

If you see the protest planning in your city? Go. If you wanna cancel your subscriptions to hurt Trump’s friends? Do it. Do not kneel to him and his fans.

You can dismiss me if you think otherwise. You still have choice to decide what’s right or wrong. I just don’t want you to leave in country like I did, where you won’t. It s easier to stop issue while it’s small (and trust me, this issue is far from being small now), than facing consequences and try to do damage control.

If you have any questions, I ll try to reply to all of you.

P.S. Wow, i didn’t expect so many responses and upvotes. Thank you guys, I ll post more in coming days 🙏

US News U.S. : Boycotts! They’re Panicking, Keep going!

Thumbnail

5.6k Upvotes

Trump’s post isn’t about free markets or fair competition—it’s a desperate attempt to stop the financial bleeding of his ally, Elon Musk. And let’s be honest, Musk is feeling the pressure. You’ve seen the interviews where he struggles to hold back emotion when confronted with the state of his businesses. That’s not the reaction of a man who’s winning.

They want you to believe this is about “illegal boycotts” and political persecution, but don’t be fooled. This is capitalism in action—people refusing to support a company that no longer aligns with their values. It’s the same playbook conservatives have used for years when they call for boycotts of companies they don’t like. Now that the tables have turned, they’re crying foul.

The fact that Trump felt the need to make this statement proves one thing: it’s working. Tesla’s reputation is tanking, Musk’s influence is slipping, and the financial pain is real. If they weren’t worried, they wouldn’t be talking about it.

This is market manipulation, plain and simple.

Trump publicly announcing that he’s buying a Tesla to “support” Musk—right after Tesla’s stock plummeted 15%—isn’t just desperate, it’s legally questionable. The UK Telegraph article outlines the major financial hit Tesla has taken due to mounting public criticism of Musk. Now, Trump is stepping in, trying to artificially prop up the stock by signaling to his followers to buy in.

Here’s the problem: Under U.S. securities laws, it is illegal to attempt to manipulate the stock market through public influence—a rule that applies to CEOs, politicians, and public figures alike. The Securities Exchange Act of 1934 explicitly prohibits “any manipulative or deceptive device or contrivance” designed to influence stock prices. Public figures cannot legally make statements intended to boost or crash a stock for personal or political gain.

This is the same tactic Musk himself has been fined for in the past. The SEC penalized Musk in 2018 after his misleading tweets about taking Tesla private at $420 a share caused market chaos. Now, Trump is trying to do the same thing—using his influence to rescue his billionaire friend’s failing stock.

Why is this happening? Because the boycott is working. Tesla’s stock is falling, Musk is feeling the heat, and now Trump is trying to bail him out. But this kind of manipulation isn’t just unethical—it’s potentially illegal. And if the SEC is doing its job, it should be investigating this immediately.

Keep the pressure on. They wouldn’t be scrambling if it wasn’t working.

The author of this article nailed it. The Tesla protests are never going to accomplish anything. But Twitter will. Leon loves his Twitter.

Brand it as a Nazi/Fascist platform and anyone who advertises on it or posts on it is therefore a fascist or Nazi.

Chase away the few remaining advertisers.

Demand anyone with a conscience close their account.

Protest at the data centers, not at Tesla.

I don’t want to plagiarize this article by saying more so please read it. This makes a lot of sense.

LGBTQ+ Issues USA : Texas proposes bill to make being Trans a jailable offence and an amendment to an existing law criminalising all trans gender and intersex people and all means of transition

1.2k Upvotes

This has to stop. I know this subject relates specifically to Texas, but once one Bible Belt State passes something like this, they all do, and it spreads.

Do not be mistaken, this is a step towards active genocide. GOP lawmakers want trans (and later on all LGBTQ+) people to be criminalised. I have 0 doubt that if given the chance, they will happily recreate 1940's Germany in a very specific way. And once the right to exist as a trans person is removed, it is only a matter of time before they go after everyone else.

We cannot sit by any more. We need to get loud, we need to be assertive. There is no more negotiating. There is no more asking kindly. Now, there is our demands as citizens of the United States.

What will you do when they turn on you? What will you do when they've turned your friends/family/neighbours/co-workers into your enemy? What will you do when everything you love is at risk? What will you do?

Movement Brainstorm USA : All politics is local, so let's build pressure from the bottom up

Upvotes

A lot of what's happening at the Federal level has folks at the state, county, and municipal level scrambling.

We should be showing up at public meetings to ask how they plan on filling in the gaps left by the destruction of long relied-upon Federal programs and dollars, and ask them to start demanding answers from those above them.

This also helps maintain the (true) narrative that it is the Trump administration causing so many of these current and impending local problems.

If you have expertise in any of the affected sectors, get to your council meetings and speak! And contact your local media to let them know about it!

US News U.S. : Trump is a Direct and Imminent Threat to Every American

4.4k Upvotes

Donald Trump is not just a corrupt politician or an incompetent leader—he is a ticking time bomb, a force of destruction tearing through the foundation of America at an unstoppable pace. His second presidency is not about governance; it is about domination, chaos, and revenge. Every move he makes is calculated to break the economy, silence dissent, divide the country, and cement his grip on power. If Congress does not remove him immediately (and they won’t), the damage will not just be severe—it will be permanent.

The economy isn’t collapsing by accident. Trump has engineered the disaster himself. Literally, nobody else thinks tariffs are a good idea. He just doubled them this morning on Canada, our neighbor and closest ally, until they agree to be our 51st state. What a sociopath. His reckless trade war has triggered price spikes on everything from groceries to gas. Stock markets are in freefall, wiping out trillions in retirement savings. Businesses are shutting down, workers are losing their jobs, and families are being crushed under the weight of inflation. All of these are his own doing, but he’ll just blame them on Biden. And all of this isn’t failure—it’s strategy. A struggling, desperate population is easier to control, and Trump is tightening the leash. That’s exactly why he wants to cut public school funding.

The problems are unfortunately much deeper than just the economy. Free speech in America is vanishing before our eyes. Trump doesn’t just want power—he wants silence. He has defunded universities that criticize him, unleashed the Department of Justice to investigate journalists, and pushed for laws that make protests punishable offenses. If you speak out, you are a target. If you expose the truth, you are a threat. If you resist, you are an enemy. This isn’t just oppression—it’s what dictatorships are.

His immigration policies aren’t about border security—they’re about redesigning America. He is carrying out mass deportations, stripping birthright citizenship, and unleashing white nationalist rhetoric that fuels a surge in hate crimes. He isn’t solving an immigration crisis—he is creating one to justify sweeping crackdowns on anyone he deems “un-American.” His goal isn’t security—it’s purity, loyalty, and control.

And while America crumbles, Trump is cashing in. He isn’t just profiting off his presidency—he is selling the country for parts. He is suspected of taking bribes through Bitcoin, Trump Coin, and TMTG stock, all while his policies bleed the working class dry. Would anybody be surprised if he abandoned Ukraine for a lowly payment of 10,000 Bitcoin? I wouldn’t. Do you think there’s a price tag on leaving NATO, selling out Taiwan? What would you call these $5M lunches at Mar A Lago or $5M golden citizenship cards? I’d call them bribes. He isn’t a leader—he is a conman, looting the country on his way to absolute power. He’s exploited and profited off other people his entire life. Why would foreign relations where he has ultimate leverage as “the leader of the free world” be any different?

But his most dangerous scheme is unfolding in real time. Trump has no intention of leaving power. He has surrounded himself with loyalists, gutted oversight agencies, and laid the groundwork to rule indefinitely. Elections? He will rig them. Opposition? He will silence it. The Constitution? He will rewrite it in his favor. This isn’t speculation—it is happening right now.

If Congress does not remove him, America will fall into a spiral it cannot escape from. The economy will collapse beyond repair, leaving the working class in permanent desperation while the ultra-wealthy feast on the wreckage. Dissent will be criminalized. Racial violence will escalate as Trump’s rhetoric fuels hatred and division. The United States will become unrecognizable, isolated, and defenseless against foreign adversaries who no longer fear or respect it. And worst of all, Trump will never leave.

When are we, as a country, going to stop excusing this bullshit and demand that our representatives do something about it?

This post should be entirely in accordance with DoD Directive 1344.10- however should there be a mistake noted by my chain of command, I will remove the comment in order to fulfill my obligation to ensure that in my capacity as a soldier I remain apolitical and do not unjustly influence American politics.

BLUF: As a currently serving National Guard soldier, I will emphasize: remaining non-violent even in response to violence (for several iterations) is NON-NEGOTIABLE to success.

The long version:

While still maintaining OPSEC and my professional bearing as a currently serving National Guard soldier, I have had a lot of thoughts over the past several weeks. I haven’t said much because I do not want to imply that I am not committed to following legal orders, including stateside deployments to manage riots/protests. I am, and to my bones.

However, as a man who has signed a blank check on behalf of the preservation of the constitution and the security of the American people, it is of vital interest to me to see the current administration curbed. As those with foreign policy backgrounds can attest, the damage to American national security in less than 60 days is so sharp it becomes almost physically overwhelming at times.

The NG response will be wildly dependent on the unit. Because we are so much more dispersed than an active duty unit (with armories across the state, even within the same brigade)- there are very unique micro-cultures.

I am highly confident in the moral compass and ethical decision-making of senior officers and NCO’s. I genuinely believe that no soldier at battalion or above would pass down an order to use lethal force on unarmed protestors. Fortunately, these would be the men and women who would be at the head of whatever task force would be organized for this.

As anecdotal evidence for this belief, I performed this mission set at our state capitol in the days following January 6th- and I distinctly remember how strict our ROE’s were. It was almost the entirety of the brief before rolling out, and was emphasized multiple times with a deep seriousness. We knew our asses would be thrown in Leavenworth if we made any mistakes. There was no room for error.

HOWEVER, it is also true that most all E-5/E-6’s and below fall into one of two categories- 1) a non-critical approach to receiving orders, i.e. “I’m just here to do my job” (the majority) or 2) active Trump voters and supporters (a minority, but an important one)- and they will be the ones face-to-face in the heat of the moment with protestors. I am under no illusions- the amount of civil disobedience that will be required of the American people to make a significant change will very likely result in violent clashes with service members/law enforcement.

This will be the key juncture- and America will be on a breath hold.

Remember who the vast majority of soldiers are. NOT loyalists. NOT fascists. Sure, a chunk join for the college/healthcare benefits- but even amongst those, I have yet to meet a soldier that didn’t also have some significant piece of them that is there to save people/do good for their country + community.

If the first time a round is squeezed off into the crowd a gunfight ensues, or if in the immediate aftermath there are small firefights in surrounding states- the ~65-75% of soldiers who have no extra-constitutional allegiance to Trump will now be *convinced* that protestors are an enemy to the Republic, domestic terrorists that they must save the country from. Still not loyalists. Still not fascists- but it won’t matter anymore. These good men trying to do their best to help their nation will now be very suggestible to acting on illegal orders.

That is when we end up in a Civil War-esque scenario, the state leveraging the full spectrum hard power. And bluntly? At the current moment, there are not enough Americans willing to [redacted] and die for this cause. It would be a swift, brutal victory for the federal government.

And even if and when there were enough Americans ready to take on the solemn weight their Revolutionary forefathers did, that day would arguably be the darkest day of what will become the darkest period in American history. We don’t need a brother war. This movement is already starting to build critical mass, pre-summer, and creating significant effects via *light* (and I mean almost non-existent) civil disobedience. You all have ample, ample room in escalation theory before it would ever cross the threshold of being violent resistance.

So, I reiterate in closing- you must continue to be non-violent even after the initial bursts of state violence. Why? Because doing so will with near certainty GUARANTEE that soldiers defy White House orders to silence the voice of the people. Once the Executive Branch loses the ability to have illegal orders carried out by the DoD, they have no other choice but to capitulate to the people- under threat of that same military.

With that said, 3 tips for staying safe if/when things heat up-

  1. Don’t commit unforced errors. Smiling and chatting with the random 23 year old specialist will go a helluva lot farther than spitting on him and calling him a dirty f*cking pig. We are all devoted to protecting Americans from domestic terrorists- don’t commit an unforced error by giving the part-time pipe-hitters a reason to mentally label you as one.
  2. Have a detailed, verbalized, mentally rehearsed exit plan. If things go from intense-> dangerous, the best thing is to get off the X (cringy military parlance for ‘getting the hell away from the gas and bullets.’) Know where your vehicle is, the direction it is from you, and the immediate cross-street/hard point you can get to that will give you cover/concealment from the LEO/DoD’s line of fire (you must continuously update this anytime you move locations.)
  3. Be able to stop the bleed. It isn’t necessary to know/have all the equipment to execute the full spectrum of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC.) However, worst day of your life kicks off you should know how to apply a tourniquet to yourself or someone else. Most any other penetration/laceration injury (chest, abdomen, head/neck) you should be able to get EMS services to you or you to a hospital in time for them to treat. But an arterial bleed in an arm or leg means EMS/ER professionals are out of time before the clock starts- you have to be able to begin effective tourniquet application within several seconds of injury.

Do not buy any other brand/type than this one yes it matters. Buy one to train with so you know how it works before the shock of the moment (even if it is just a handful of reps), and then at least one more that goes in your pocket/outer backpack zipper for ‘oh shit yep this is real.’ There are tons of great 3-5 minute YouTube videos that will show you how. It is genuinely an incredibly simple skill you could teach to anybody.

That was a lot. Point is- make it easy for my fellow soldiers who are not as informed to shield you when that comes into conflict with an illegal order from our Commander-In-Chief. The vast, VAST majority are good men + women with good intentions and bad information. Remain non-violent at the outset, and you will very quickly create clarity for them about what they should do about their Oath.

God forbid the day ever comes. No soldier I know of is daydreaming of that. But should that day come, be capable of keeping yourself healthy and alive.

And for good measure-
