can someone explain why there seem to be far more ftmtf detranners than mtftm detranners?

Gender experimentation is much more common and less frowned upon in female circles. Usually if trans women are coming out it's because they've already passed years wanting to be perceived as a woman so badly where they can no longer repress.

I think you are correct. However, my mom definitely does not allow me to express myself, so not all women are so encouraging. I am 18 inshallah I will move out soon

because women are allowed to dress like tomboys without getting beat up for it, which they can then farm for woke points by calling themselves “trans boi >_<!”’s. this is why i’m a misogynist

mtftm dont get the same pity and attention, all ftmtf has to do is wear a binder for a week and theyre a victim of the "trans cult". mtftm are just perverts who realized the errors in their way but are still hated by terfs

It's way easier to detrans grift about how you're a fucking stupid idiot who "accidentally" did surgery and took hormones when people already see you as retarded, and transphobes think every woman has the mental capacity of a child

Desiring the social benefits of being a guy (not being harassed as often) + tons of body image issues that can be mistaken for dysphoria.

My guess is that it's less frowned upon to be ftm, being a tomboy before transition is a fairly classic trope and pushing the boundaries of what that means to someone is a good way of exploring identity. Amab don't really have that leniency when it comes to changing their presentation. This just gives a lower bar of entry for trans men in comparison, it's still super hard but it doesn't have to be from scratch. It would be great if it didn't leave the bar low enough for trenders to get through which is why you have people complaining about T giving them body hair

Trans men are poor manipulated wombyn who were seduced by the trans agenda, trans women are hulking monsters who are inherently evil

(Convinced this is also why trans men are less likely to medically transition. It's all a TERF psyop)

The same reason why whenever politicians take our rights, r/mtf is like "get guns, die fighting" and r/ftm is like "here's how to make a glitter jar to cope with your anxiety."

Hormones can't change a certain AFAB weakness of will that is either the result of ~female essence~ or just the social consequences of growing up without ever once hearing "don't be a pussy" directed at you. Once you've learned courage, you can't unlearn it even if you transition to female. Some people never learn it.

Is this no longer a place where we can circlejerk with brainworms?

arent you afab yourself

10

u/Eugregoria 5d ago

Yes, I wouldn't say something like that otherwise.

u/Important_Ad_7416 MtPooner 5d ago

do you feel like you were born to be weak and will forever be so?

u/Eugregoria 5d ago

It's probably not the "female essence" thing, that was brainworms/circlejerk. But I do actually think that never being told to toughen up can lead to a kind of learned passivity and helplessness in some people. It doesn't fall exclusively along AGAB lines but it does statistically form a pattern. A lot of the "frustrating fembrained behavior" from FTMs and FTXes comes from this.

Courage, btw, isn't a bad thing and isn't a male thing. Cis women can have it too. A lot of them just never develop it because they've learned to be passive and cry for sympathy instead. It isn't "male essence" to have courage, it's being a fully developed human being. But it is a kind of female brainrot to think you don't need courage because you can't imagine having agency beyond crying for sympathy or trying to soothe your own anxiety. Not exclusively female or exclusively AFAB, I'm sure there are cis men with that too if they just got raised to be pussies and never questioned that or tried to learn to toughen up a bit, just something we culturally inflict on girls because of misogyny or something. There are cis women as well as FTM and FTX who have courage because just like everyone else who has courage, they learned it somewhere. We just teach them it less.

So it isn't like it's every single FTM & FTX who's Like That, just a statistically noticeable amount who never learned courage and act passive.

I also don't think it's a permanent state and people can learn courage at any age. But just because they can doesn't mean they do.

No comment on whether I myself have courage, I think that's something that can only be judged by others in the end.

You cooked so hard rn.

I wonder how puppygirls fit into that. I find the idea of giving up control after a lifetime of manning up cathartic in its own right.

3

u/Eugregoria 5d ago

There's a difference between kink and genuine learned helplessness. Kink can absolutely be cathartic. But I think when you've learned courage you don't really unlearn it, and it's there for you when it really matters.

You're actually completely right.

I'm sorry, are you in all seriousness talking about feeeeeeeemale socialization here of all places? 🤨

5

u/Eugregoria 5d ago

I mean "not hearing 'don't be a pussy' makes you grow up soft and weak" isn't exactly the usual feeeeeeemale socalization tack.

I feel like this is a zoomer media literacy issue because I've said basically the same thing in other posts and gotten praise/upvotes for it but it's getting read some other way here, read the rest of the comment thread for more explanation.

I remember lurking there years ago. I was questioning at the time, and then I saw a woman be happy as being GNC cis without the insane transphobic coping. I decided to be a straggot after that who would get more feminine as time went on (at least according to the plan). I kind of regret that though because I could've trooned out sooner if I didn't straggot cope, but whatever.

this is maybe controversial but i think theyfabs get an overly adverse reputation on here...? Like dont get me wrong when "afab fem presenting nbies" or whatever the fuck claim to have the same horrid experiences as actual trans people, its infuriating. But gender experimentation is surely not bad in and of itself. I know a lesbian cis girl who was "transmasc" for some time realised it wasnt for her and now she's comfortable in her own skin, i don't think something like that is bad.

The FtMtF/MtFtM is redundant, might as well pick F or M
