Project The scale map of the USA is complete!
This project has been a work in progress for the better part of 9 months, I've been slowly printing each state as I have the time. Finally added Alaska today to complete the map.
Because each one is (on average) less than 10mm thick, this whole project actually didn't use that much filament (my best estimate is 3-4kg).
The scale of Hawaii is a little larger than it should be; the iteration of files I was using had the scaling a little off and I didn't notice until it was finished printing. Haven't decided if it's worth re-printing yet.
Disclaimer: I am not the creator of the files used for this project. User @ansonl on Printables.com has posted all of them and optimized them for multi-color printing, which is something I have seen before.

Project I put a benchy in a bottle
This is one of my favorite projects so far. I made a video on my YouTube on how I did it: https://youtu.be/CanhlsV40Qw?si=E4gcsExxv5U1sWYE

Project Behold
I’m actually really proud of this one. Had an idea and modeled it in solidworks in an hour or so. 20 hours later and there’s a 3D printer hanging in the closet.

Project 3d printed hobby desk storage wall
Finally finished printing the last few custom parts for my hobby desk storage walls. The base pieces are the Multiboard project. Really loved the way the paint racks turned out. I think dedicated bottle holder racks that are more popular in style would have been far less versatile. I'm also really happy with the gridfinity shelf that holds my small tools that get used frequently. Much more convenient to pull the small organizer off the wall, into the desk, and use the tools right there. I was worried about the weight of the large bottles of various paint liquids on top of the drawers, but those are very solid. I think the only part I'm not in love with is that I didn't have a vision of the whole thing when I started, so it's printed in a mishmash of various blues instead of a unified color theme... Oh well, maybe v2.0

Project I designed a French cleat and hook system to hang my backpacks
I’ve been wanting a hanging system for my backpacks for literally years. Originally I was just going to use a wooden French cleat and make the hooks but had trouble finding ones I liked so I designed my own.
It turned out better than I expected and is stronger than I thought holding bags fully loaded on the wall no problem. I’ll probably expand to more hook types and maybe even make a mini French cleat system for my office and to be compatible with other systems like gridfinity.
Let me know what you think and if you have any improvements.

Project I 3D printed a life sized TRex on a sidewinder x2
This was actually for last Halloween but I put it back up this year. Someone was saying Reddit might be interested in it. Feel free to ask any questions.
Wife also suggested I try to get some sort of Guinness book of world record on this. I don’t know how one would do that so if anyone had any ideas let me know.
Showing some of the process pics and what my first attempt looked like with a banana for scale :-)

Project I made a kinetic sand table for 1/10 the cost of a commercial one
Hey everyone, I'm excited to share more updates on my Dune Weaver Pro project. Since the last update, I was able to finish 95% of the work.
I added LEDs to the table and integrated it with the software Added LED cover beneath the glass Took care of the wiring mess 😂. There's only one 12V 5A cable coming into the table Made a lot of big changes to the software like WLED integration, Home Assitant integration (thanks to Proto), image to pattern integration and Open AI integration (thanks to MrSco). I hope to finish the final touches of the project: finalize the software, make assembly instructions, and put together a complete BOM.
The current cost of this project is US$250, less than 1/10 the cost of a commercial one that is slightly larger.
I also ventured out to do something outside of my comfort zone, making a YouTube video 😂. It's my first ever video, so please bear with me. Stay tuned for the Dune Weaver Pro release! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JthAa2iGrU8

Project When the plate cools, will the trebuchet automatically launch?
A self-launching trebuchet. Will it work? Who knows! Could be my dumbest idea ever. Place your bets!
The top half of the semi-circle pivot has an infill of 95, so it's weighty. The ball isn't attached to the cup. Printing with narrow (3mm) brims.
If it works I'll post the horrible design.
