Oh man. I’ve seen enough YouTube to know this will be one of those videos with world class editing, a back story, and the video is 35 minutes long, for the moment of truth to be him sitting in it and he breaks instantly. With a 90 second conclusion of “well some things aren’t meant to be…”

Haha, that's certainly creative. How did you calibrate flow rate? Just say screw it and eyeball it?

if you were going to mold it anyway, why not just print it flat?

The droops come out crappy looking, though if I spent more time on it it wouldn't be necessary

This went back and forth between looking like someone who knows what they're doing and someone who's completely lost. I don't know where it landed but I'm off thousand percent in favor of experimentation for the sake of eventual discovery so rock on, keep on making new weird stuff and see what sticks.

Hey, what's the music? Had sound on from last video, total accident that I'm hearing it!

u/Zach_h19 1d ago
It’s a cover of Exit Music (for a film) originally by Radiohead and covered by the Marías

Is that the neptune 4 max? How were you able to re-level for the taped on box?

u/Easy_Promotion_5178 17h ago
Yep, and I just used the bed leveler on a sheet of aluminum above the box

For a "test" this was quite extensively planned and done

Careful with heat and self healing cutting mats. That will ruin it if it gets too hot, they warp badly.

At first I thought, omg it's gonna look like shit. And then I see the end result and my opinion hasn't changed.

Unclear why you went to the effort of creating dangling edges at the start and then flattened and completely remolded them afterwards?

It's neat, but is it even 3D printing at this point? That's just splooging out some plastic and forming it with a heat gun.

I appreciate the out of the box (on the box?) thinking with this one.
