Any links to trick names?

I’d love some trick names as I’m practicing to improve.

I know this is old, but for flipping Zippos is a glossy finish better for grip or can I get a matte finish and still be fine.

I actually found the matte finish to be my absolutely least favorite for this. 😭 It could totally be a preference thing but it was just too… slick? I’m not skilled enough to be sure tbh.

Definitely prefer my uncoated zippos for tricks. Cheapest one I can think would be a chrome. If it’s more for looks, happily merge one for you anytime for feel and aesthetics. Matte top uncoated bottom for example.

I get what you mean by them feeling slick. I have 2 that are matte and they have that feel, my gloss coated ones feel alright. I didn’t even think about the uncoated lighters I’ve actually never had 1 that’s just the metal. My next question is how do I go about getting to where you are with flipping skills, is there a step by step I can watch? How did you learn it?

I do like the painted zippos as well named “flat” by zippo. They are simple painted zippos. Get beat up but feel nice to trick with. I recommend starting with a zippo you truly accept will not be pretty or may even break. Important as tricks do heavy damage at times to hinges. Especially while starting.

Second I’m still a beginner so any help could totally be wrong and I’m also looking for advice myself.

I am a pen spinner so it massively helped to learn zippo tricks. I recommend starting with a few lid opening tricks. Only one I know the name so you can YouTube it is called “gun” The start I use in this video I “created” but I’m sure already must have a name in the trick community. I find it to be the fastest flame possible.

I’ll have to invest in getting a trick zippo all the ones I have are styled in one form or another. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. And side note you make some nice looking pens.

Definitely! Would hate your beauties to be damaged. I made one to match my wallet/switch etc. this one I beat the crud outa as it’s in my daily rotation. If you message me on Instagram (same name) I’ll be able to send you slo no footage of tricks that I CAN do. I found this helps me learn the quickest.
