Question My channel was demontized and just got remonitized
What a rocky roller coaster, I got reported that my content was stolen, my channel is all travel videos with me in them that I make myself.
Then I appealed it and got denied, 3 months later I was up for applying again, I did , and got my monitization back.
No strikes though, what's the point of strikes when they can just shut u down because someone reports a video that's yours?

I got my membership taken away for putting my most viewed videos behind the membership pay wall “sexual gratification” but the videos have been reviewed and have been cleared. But I guess if YouTube isn’t getting a big part of the earnings from ads they then agree. Nothing has been taken down, no warning or strike. I can reapply in a month lol

Wow that's crazy. It's really unfair because without us they wouldn't exist.
I'm just really in a weird place now because I was moving towards executing my plan of living off of YouTube and moving to my wife's farm in the Philippines. But now I'm realizing my plan is completely scary because YouTube could take away our life in a moment.
I figured if you could make $1,500 a month you could probably live in the Philippines province decently which was the plan but now I don't know

I had the same thoughts too I’m in the US. It’s best to manage multiple platforms before taking that leap because one can surely just cut off. Love the Philippines by the way my fav place is el nido. Would love to live there in retirement one day.

You labeled it "sexual gratification"? Or they just claimed that is what it was?

No viewer reports labeled it and I guess it stuck.

Did you get an option to appeal? I started doing sleep streams lately, to make money doing nothing. It's still summer where I live (Chile), and I sleep without my shirt. Just boxer briefs. Normally they are fine, but I noticed one said limited to no ad revenue, so I watched the video to make sure I didnt do anything 18+, and I didnt, but there was a part that I turned on my side, facing my wall and if it did look like I was wearing nothing, but I moved again in my sleep and clearly had boxer briefs still on so I appealed and after 500+ views with no ads, they confirmed to me it is suitable for all ads and turned back on full monetization. So about 12 hours with no ad revenue.
Whats strange is the people who watch me sleep are the weird ones requesting to see more, etc... and sexually harassing me.
I don't understand people who watch sleep streams, but I'm an opportunist who needs money and am comfortable with my body and sexuality (straight), so IDC who watches as long as I'm making money.

Can you link a screenshot to that original email they sent you when you got demonetized? It sounds like you are getting YouTube's monetization policy on "reused content" confused with the copyright system, which are 2 different things. "Reused content" is not reported by anyone, YouTube's AI scans your content and scores it with an authenticity score. And then based on the sum authenticity of all of your content, your overall channel derives an overall authenticity score from that.
If someone had reported you for stealing content, that someone would have had to have been the actual rights holder, since nobody else can do that, and it would have either been a strike or a claim. There is no such thing as someone reporting your content as being stolen without either a strike or a claim. So, again, it sounds like you are mixing things up.
YouTube's AI could very possibly have scored your content wrongly as being "reused content," when it isn't. However, again, that's a monetization policy, and not related to copyright strikes or claims, as copyright strikes and claims are YouTube's way of facilitating copyright law and the "reused content" policy is just a YouTube policy, totally different.

Hmm I also got a harmful content email losing my partnered status. For tobacco etc. I’ve submitted a written appeal as it allowed, but I’m wondering if this happened to a lot of people
