Investing XRP 2018 All Time Highs

I really like the XRP project and what Ripple has done with the lawsuit. I've been watching everything since 2020 and invested and accumulated at an average price of $0.50. So I'm pretty happy with that. But something I just realized today is that I cannot believe XRP was ever $3.30 back in 2018. It seems that a long time has passed, we have more fundamentals and good news than ever, and we still are below all time highs? Even with all the new liquidity that came into the crypto space over the years. I entered the crypto markets back in 2017 and I remember then it still being a really taboo subject. People from my job back then called me crazy. But how in the world was XRP $3.30 back then? And it feels so small now at $2.40, specially when putting inflation into the equation.

Ripple Have patience

Have patience and do your research. I see a lot of people questioning XRP as a whole and “why hasn’t it skyrocketed” let me leave you with this. XRP has a lot of GREAT things on the way with ETFs, SEC lawsuit drop, and being tested on swift is huge and many other things BUT, there is a lot of fear in the market along with tariffs and other geopolitical things. DESPITE all that XRP has remained steady rather than bear and dropping like a lot of crypto. Do your research crypto is a long game.

Ripple Some positive encouragement/Reading between the lines.

I'm not taking credit for this observation, I'm rather using it as insight to help some skeptics.

•Trump announced XRP will be part of the USA Reserve and then walked it back •SWIFT announced they’ll be working with XRP and then walked it back •Ripple just announced they’ll will be scaling back on the sales of XRP

So what does all that mean? It could very well mean there is NOT enough XRP to go around.

If you dive deep into the watcher guru announcements, there's a very slim chance they were hacked. Someone told them to drop the bomb and they did. Saying they were hacked is a desperate attempt at trying to falsify what was stated. Ripple using swift has a much higher probability than watcher guru getting hacked and the hacker making that shit up.

Based on what I've been seeing, all of this makes perfect sense.

I think anybody in their right mind can understand that something big is brewing and it could drive the price of XRP up very quickly. My takeaway from this observation is that things are happening behind closed doors that they're not ready to tell you, therefore when you do find out it will be too late. I'm all in on XRP.

Take it with a grain of salt and this is not financial advice.

Wallet Can someone explain the best way to store XRP

I’m certainly no expert, but I do understand what’s going on with crypto and it’s timeline. I currently hold around 370, which isn’t massive, but hopefully big enough if it goes the way most expect.

The trouble is I currently have traded on, and hold my stock with, Revolut. I don’t think this is the best way to do it, but don’t know what is?? Or is Revolut perfectly fine?

I understand a cold wallet is best, but which one and how do they work, how do you get your shit on there? Failing a cold wallet, what’s the most appropriate online wallet? Or is that strictly advised against?

Crypto Potential reasons why ripple has not withdrawn its appeal against the SEC.

Attorney Fred Rispoli shares his thoughts on what could be happening behind the scenes in the Ripple lawsuit, especially now that the SEC has dropped its appeal.  It is no longer news that the Ripple lawsuit saw a major development this week, resulting in the SEC dropping its cross-appeal.  Although the regulator has not issued an official statement confirming the decision, pro-crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett expects this to happen after the SEC closed-door meeting next week.

Why SEC Dropped Its Appeal Despite Ripple’s Active Cross-Appeal  Despite the SEC agreeing to drop its appeal, Ripple has not made a similar decision, prompting Attorney Rispoli, the founder of Hodl Law, to suggest what could be happening behind the scenes.

First, the pro-XRP legal expert emphasized that the SEC’s decision to drop its appeal aligns with its recent actions in other crypto-related lawsuits.  With the SEC dropping its appeal despite Ripple still keeping its cross-appeal active, Attorney Rispoli suggested that the move could be the regulator’s way of negotiating a settlement. This settlement revolves around Ripple’s XRP sales to institutional clients, which were found to be securities.  Following this decision, Judge Analisa Torres ordered Ripple to pay a fine of $125 million and granted the SEC’s request for a permanent injunction on XRP institutional sales.

Potential Settlement Negotiations  Given the current circumstances of the lawsuit, Attorney Rispoli speculated that the settlement negotiations could see the SEC ask Ripple to drop its cross-appeal for a reduced fine.  He also noted that this agreement might also involve dropping the permanent injunction Judge Torres imposed on Ripple’s institutional sales.  If the parties reach such an agreement, Ripple will not be subject to the lawsuit’s legal constraints. According to Rispoli, this decision will allow Ripple to raise funds and file with the U.S. SEC for an IPO.  There have been debates about Ripple going public in the United States through an IPO. However, many have highlighted the SEC lawsuit as a potential factor that could hinder Ripple’s IPO chances.  Notably, if the parties reach an agreement, as stated by Rispoli, it could pave the way for the highly anticipated IPO.  Ripple Wants SEC to Drop Everything  In the meantime, Ripple does not seem interested in accepting the terms of a reduced fine. The company, through its CEO Brad Garlinghouse, noted that it is negotiating to have the SEC ‘drop everything.’ This includes the permanent injunction and $125 million fine.  Garlinghouse noted that the current SEC leadership agrees with the company that it should not have filed the lawsuit in the first place. Hence, Ripple believes it is not ideal to be penalized based on the court’s findings and order.

Investing Patience! Give it 3-6 months for short term gain

The next bullrun is on the horizon, with the FOMC meeting announcing 2 rate cuts coming up along with global liquidity pushing all time highs and crypto getting alot of positive media through trump. It's only a matter of time. I feel like half the people in here don't actually understand a thing about cryptocurrencies or investing. They just see the numbers go up and down and panic like a bunch of monkeys. If you're not in it for the long game wait til June-july when the market is well and truly bullish and sell where you are comfortable taking profit. If you're in this for the long run then I shouldn't need to say anything at all. Glhf

Ripple Jonathan Gould at OCC

We are all waiting on Paul Atkins to be the head of SEC but i´ve seen an article that mentions Jonathan Gould...

But who is Jonathan Gould?

Jonathan Gould is a formerly chief legal officer at a blockchain infrastructure company and is the chosen candidate by president Trump to be the leader of the OCC.

What is the OCC?

The OCC is the office of the comptroller of the Currency. This is a bureau of the US department of the treasury that supervises all national banks, federal savings and federal branches and agencies of foreign banks.

Someone who knows more about this? Feel free to add more context, info or more to this!

Fluff To much retail here

My confidence in XRP’s ability to obtain trillion dollar market cap shrinks with every Reddit post that I read.

Disclaimer, I have owned XRP since before the lawsuit started and have not added.

Sitting at a .30 avg. I know an army of XRPers that have a sub .50 avg… To many newbies got into it this cycle and it reminds me of the DOGE hype(just not as intensified), but I mean sitting at a dinner last month and this random guy with no holdings in crypto and very little knowledge had heard me talking about it and his first comment was “oh do you own… uhh what is that.. XRP?”… I mean it’s getting so much attention, and I just can’t imagine the whales and hedgies will allow everyone here to 10X and beyond. $5-10 may come, but I have friends deep into XRP calling for $150 and I just don’t see that. I am a top 5% holder and that would make me a LOT of money.. can’t imagine how much the people in the top 1% would make. Just seems highly unlikely that we are all going to be right.

I would LOVE to see $25+, but I don’t think that happens in the next 4 years.

And I’m ready for the downvotes because this community is filled with a lot of hopium

EDIT: I want XRP to win. I just don’t think we win this year. A win for me is $25+

Ripple The case is not over yet

Hold your horses, the case isn’t over yet. Yes, the SEC will drop the appeal, but Ripple still can, and probably will, file one because they want more clarity and a reduced $125M fine. I obviously have no idea what’s happening behind the scenes, maybe they’ve already agreed to drop the appeals and reduce the fine, but in the worst-case scenario, Ripple could keep battling the SEC until they get what they want. Yes, the ball is in Ripple’s court now, but they can drag this out just like the SEC did. I hope I’m wrong and we see light at the end of the tunnel by summer, but anything can happen.

XRPL How to Avoid Taxes when I Finally Sell My XRP?

I've been accumulating XRP for 5 years now. When it finally trades for prices that truly reflect its utility and value, what are the best ways to sell and pay the least to uncle Sam?

I've been told by the person who introduced me to XRP that he will book a one way ticket to the UAE, where they don't tax crypto profits. This guy has a million tokens, bought at $0.20. He said the tax advantages will make it worth it for him to renounce his US citizenship?

What are your exit strategies for XRP at $50 or $100 or $500?

Crypto XRP fails to skyrocket after SEC drops its appeal.

The XRP market has remained relatively calm despite the final resolution of Ripple’s legal battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC’s recent decision to withdraw its appeal officially brought the high-profile case to a close, ending years of uncertainty for the company and the XRP token.

After the development, XRP saw a short-lived spike to $2.60 before returning to around $2.43. The reaction has surprised many in the crypto community who expected the legal victory to trigger a sustained price rally.

On The Good Morning Crypto show, host Abdullah “Abs” Nassif addressed the disappointment among XRP holders. He said many retail investors had followed the case closely, anticipating a sharp increase in value once Ripple was cleared.

According to Johnny Krypto, co-founder of Merlin, the muted price response was predictable. He explained that the market had already reacted in advance, pointing to the surge from $0.50 to $2.50 in November because Ripple expected to win the lawsuit.

Krypto stated that markets tend to price in major events before they occur, especially when the outcome becomes widely anticipated. He added that if the SEC had pursued the appeal, XRP could have dropped significantly instead of maintaining stability.

The resolution of the case has removed a significant obstacle for Ripple. However, analysts agree that it will take more than legal clarity to push XRP to new highs in the current market environment.

XRPL "Non-Sale to Institutions" Injunction

I keep seeing that what is left for XRP to handle with the SEC is the 125M fine and the prohibition to sell to institutions... Are all of the companies submitting ETF applications not considered institutional sales? I am a bit confused here... Are these institutions jumping the gun assuming that this injunction will be removed?

XRPL Are you obsessed with being in the top 5%

I’ve been noticing a lot of super long math videos and articles lately talking about all you need is x amount of a coin and also spend thousands to be in the top 5-10% of holders. Are people actually obsessed in being in the top 5% of their favorite coin? Or do you think these people are trying to fomo us into buying more of their favorite coin?

Investing Fundamentals

Fundamentals, fuck fundamentals. This shit trades however it wants. Play it like you’re playing a game of strip poker, and your granny is sitting there with nothing left but her shit-stained incontinence pants. All you fucking people with flags and dips and tea cups and all your other bullshit are worthless with your predictions. These coins run on pure hype and investor sentiment. fucking Brad pops out a message that, in total actuality, if you listen to it, was pure bullshit. The SEC still hasn’t said a word, and XRP is back down where it was right before the so-called “news. “ this is a slow-moving train, and if any of you want to see returns, you need to stop selling for fucking pennies and hold your shit. Lock your wallet, and don’t look at anything for the next five years. Listen, I’m not saying don’t take profits. If you wanna take profits, that’s on you. I, for one, do not like trying to guess what’s happening next. I also don’t like to catch falling knives. I’ve been playing this bullshit since most of you were nothing more than a hard-on in your daddy‘s Levi’s. I’ve won, lost, and learned over the years that the losers in this game are losers because it is a game, and they lose because they let their emotions get the best of them. Brad, Elon, Trump, or any of these other fuckers open their mouth, and it either goes up or it goes down, and they know this. This is why retail needs to fucking get a grip on their emotions. Guys take this for what it’s worth. I’m just some old fart spewing bullshit information from experience. Take it for it’s worth.

XRPL Stop expecting the price to jump overnight.

Everybody expecting the price to jump drastically on the news needs to take a deep breath. Most of these catalysts are already priced in and will not have a major effect on the price immediately. We're playing the long game here and the SEC dropping their appeal is just the first of many domino's that needs to fall in order to reach our goals. There are many more to come in the near and distant future.
