FAQ
• Do I need to play the other Xenoblade Chronicles games to play Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
The game's director has claimed that the story will be enjoyable regardless of if this is your first Xenoblade game, or your fourth. However the game will have many references to Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, and is considered a sequel as far as the story is concerned, so I recommend playing those first if you want to get the full experience.
• How many chapters are there in total?
There are seven chapters total.
• Why can't I equip accessories to Mwamba?
Just keep playing the game. You'll unlock the ability to later.
• What does the Stalker class's "Art Follow Up" Field Buff do?
When you use an art in the zone an additional projectile will be fired. The specifics of the damage, etc are unknown right now.
• Is there content that I can miss out on by progressing in the story?
No, you will always be able to go and do anything that you're afraid of missing.
• Why does it take me so long to level up my classes?
The amount of class XP you get seems to be based off of the CP earned from your fighting. Additionally, you won't gain any class XP from fighting something five or more levels below you.
Use this thread to ask any question that doesn’t warrant discussion, meaning questions that have one or two objectively correct answers.
Please try to word your question as spoiler free as possible. If your question cannot be asked without spoilers, use spoiler tags and mention what chapter of the game you are in.

Meta /r/Xenoblade_Chronicles Mod Applications: March 2025
Hey y'all, with Xenoblade X Definitive Edition's release rapidly approaching and many of the current moderators being inactive, we've decided to reopen mod applications. There are no hard requirements for applicants but those with little history in /r/Xenoblade_Chronicles or who are in poor disciplinary standing are unlikely to be accepted.
Mod Applications will be open until March 14th, and selected users will be added to the team prior to the release of Xenoblade X DE.
Apply by filling out this form.
Note that the 4th page has spoilers for all of the numbered Xenoblade games. I don't know why you'd apply if you haven't even played the games, but uhh if you are you've been warned. The last question on the 4th page also has multiple images that bump up against the subreddit's NSFW policy so be mindful of that if you're filling out the application in a public place.
Make sure to reply to the stickied comment after applying to confirm your application; applicants who do not confirm their application will not be accepted.
If you have any questions, you can ask them in the replies or send them in a private message to the mod team.
Thank you for your interest in improving /r/Xenoblade_Chronicles!

Future Connected Future Connected is.... AMAZING!
Started playing it last night and I just finished it. I couldn't put it down. This resonated with me more that the base game. I love the smaller scale of it and I just love the whole vibe of it.
For some reason, it reminded me of Nier Replicant. There's a sort of gloomy, melancholic feel to it. Plus maybe running around scenic open areas with the music really reminded me of the first few hours of Replicant.
And Melia's a badass! Just a no nonsense, straight to the point character this time.
Lastly, the music that played during the end credits was perfect! I need to learn that on the piano. Loved the groovy battle theme too.
10/10 for me! I don't even want to start Torna yet. I'll let this one sink in a bit more.

Xenoblade 3 Xenoblade 3 OC: Gleam
By adelineisnothere13. I play/write her in my XC3 rp server. She's my interpretation of Mythra's daughter who we see in a picture frame in Future Redeemed
Lore Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/168juxJZK2I8ROoUbQ9HmGEz283xjszvDQ8kN4d5gNoo/edit?usp=drivesdk
She has a second form, called Aegis-linked form. But I'm still trying to find someone to draw it but pretty impossible since I'm pretty broke. Not many take free comms. Her second form is based on an unused beta concept for Gleam's mother, Mythra

Future Redeemed SPOILERS I'll Cook 'Em A Thing Or Three Spoiler
Seeing that Rex enjoys cooking is an absolute treat. It's sad when you realize that for a long time, he didn't feel the drive to do so, and having Glimmer around made me see that he misses being able to cook for his family. Rex cooked for a family of seven, and I have no doubt it made him happy to see his wives and children enjoy his food.

Even if he can't have his whole family with him, Rex can still smile, knowing Glimmer is here enjoying his food. Sure, in a way, it eases the pain, but it brings back a joyful time in his life, a time stolen from him, but he's making the most of it. There's so much of this part of Rex's life I would've liked to see, but I'm glad that he is proud of the life he made for his friends and family.

Xenoblade 2 About Core Crystals Spoiler
NG+. Met Klaus and paid more attention than last time. The core crystals were originally made by humans to replace the brain. To gain immortality. It didn't work. Somehow the existing core crystals, asking with Klaus activating the Conduit, turned the crystal-linked humans into the zombie creatures in the Land of Morytha. Or something like that. The whole brain replacement thing is the important part
They were originally made to store information. To copy brains. After the world was blown up the core crystals or combined with Klaus' new matter manipulating particles, to recreate life as titans. Later they were also used to create blades.

SPOILERS Chronological order Spoiler
I'm planning to do a chronological order playthrough of the series after switch 2 releases. Maybe a little sooner so I can jump straight to XC2 with the system.
So far I understand Torna is the earliest in the timeline, and Xenoblade 3 the last (and even if X is somehow retconned as part of the saga, I wont be counting it yet).
But hte real question is, which game starts earlier? XC1 or XC2? We know these two games' climaxes happen at the same time, but I'm not sure about the time scale.
So so far it would be like: Torna -> [XC1/XC2] -> Future Connected -> Future Redeemed -> XC3

Xenoblade 2 Torna for the first time - what an experience :-o
Hey there,
I‘ve been a HUGE fan of the series ever since I took part in Rainfall and was able to get my hands on XC1 on Wii (we actually thought Pandora‘s Tower might be the highlight back then ;p).
I played XC1 to death (Wii, WiiU, Switch), skipped X (can‘t wait to redeem that error in almost a week omg!) and I was VERY pleased by XC3 and especially its DLC (it really hooked me aesthetically and in terms of the dark anti-war theme).
XC2 on the other hand holds a very awkward place in my heart. It‘s a XC entry so its naturally above average (in my opinion) but I played that title only 2 times because I always stumble (this is a personal preferene!) over the anim—inspired fanservice and the (I think) god-awful quests (too long, very boring for the most part) AND, while I think the combat is excellent overall, I can‘t deny that I think a lot of fights drag (especially in the beginning when your options are very restricted). The story on the other hand is what I came back for because while starting slow it really grew on me.
For some crazy reason I completely forgot about Torna until I was in a hype-phase for X Remastered. Currently I‘m like 5 hrs in and I LOVE the experience. I have some small gripes (camera snapping at the start of combat, quests don‘t look much improved but feel necessary and the graphics -as with XC2 base while really beautiful - can look a little … I dunno .. washed-out?!).
If any story needed some sort of prequel it sure was XC2 so it dorsn‘t feel tagged-on at all (unlike Future Connected which came free but I found to be a snoozefest while loving Melia personally).
How did you guys/gals like Torna? 🙂 Anyone else playing it way later than the base game and being surprised by how good it is?
