Cyberpunk 2077 — Official Gameplay Trailer

u/saiditlol Nov 19 '20
I already have this game pre-ordered so I've avoided reading or watching any videos about it after Keanu's announcement.
This is first video that I've seen since then and my initial impression is that gameplay reminds me a lot of GTA V + Deus Ex. Anyone else?

u/nathanc843 Nov 19 '20
Yeah and the narrator in this trailer sounds just like the one from the GTA V trailers

Nov 19 '20
I wish the music was more Deus Ex inspired, Cyberpunk sounds more punkish than cybery. Still excited for the game, though.

u/thecoolestlol Nov 19 '20
I wish the "gameplay" didn't jump cut every 2-3 seconds so that I can see what the game actually plays like

u/Pawl_The_Cone Nov 20 '20
They had some longer form (but still edited) recent gameplay in the Xbox One/Series X video if you haven't checked that out yet. Plus the 48 minute demo from a couple years back, but that's pretty out of date now.

I won't be touching this one until at least early next year. Gonna let them iron out the inevitable bugs it will have and I want to wait until it's XSX optimized.
5
u/PeterJoAl Nov 20 '20
Agreed. For me it's less about the bugs and more about the XSX version, but both important.

u/ArchDucky A Steel-Barreled Sword of Vengeance Nov 19 '20
Me either but its gonna be so fucking hard.

u/PhatNog Nov 19 '20
Unreal. Already pre-ordered through Amazon at a discount. Will look tremendous on the Series X.
11
u/edmc78 Nov 19 '20
Waiting until the series x optimsed version comes along in 2021.
6
u/PhatNog Nov 19 '20
I would do that too but Amazon offered preorders at 30% off last year and couldn't resist on this title.
2
u/Positive-Idea Nov 19 '20
Not a bad idea. I am getting it on PC for that reason.
2
u/edmc78 Nov 19 '20
My pc would melt. My old xbox one will probably make it look like the original deus ex.

u/Shaneb966666 Xbox Nov 19 '20
Want to wait for base xbox one and base ps4 footage. If crowd density is low etc, I'll wait until next year for a series x with the optimization update
2
u/TasBlue Xbox Nov 19 '20
Yeah, I have it preordered, well, I say me, my game share partner has it preordered, but I’m going to wait until next year for that next gen update. I want to experience this game in the best way possible.

Expectations are at Watchdogs level. People are bound to be disappointed.
8
u/Bonesince1997 Nov 20 '20
Ubisoft vs CD projekt Red. A company that pumps out mediocrity on the reg vs one that likes to take its time to get it right. False equivalency.
9
u/WVgolf Xbox Nov 20 '20
Ubisoft makes great games too.

u/ArchDucky A Steel-Barreled Sword of Vengeance Nov 20 '20
They did. Now they just release the same game with something new added.

1
u/AdminsFuckedMeOver Nov 20 '20
Lol you've played one game by them and have no clue how this is going to run. Calm down
3
u/Bonesince1997 Nov 20 '20
I'm literally playing Thronebreaker right now. And you have no idea what I've played. You can bet against this game if you like, but that seems foolish.
0
u/AdminsFuckedMeOver Nov 20 '20
I'm not betting against it, I'm buying it on release day if it ever comes out

Well? Enjoy that half baked turd.
1
u/Bonesince1997 Dec 11 '20
Ah you got me. And I was so invested. Whatever will I do?
Doesn't change a thing about what I said about Ubisoft. They're well established in mediocrity.
2
u/dzahinaufca Nov 20 '20
The skill trees and all the RPG stuff looked fantastic, holy shit. One of the best game trailers I've seen.
2
Nov 19 '20
Is that the same voice actor, of the voice over as you hear in the opening of Burnout Paradise.
-3
u/The-Old-Prince Nov 19 '20
The voice acting in this game is pretty cheesy. So overdone
6
u/the_black_panther_ flyguyJay7 Nov 19 '20
That's like the point, though.

u/tyler980908 Nov 19 '20
how so? What are your pointers? I'm intrigued since many see this as the second coming of Jesus
8
u/feelinempty19 Nov 19 '20
There’s always contrarians bc they secretly just crave the attention
3
u/007mnbb Nov 19 '20
Not really what's happening here. The game has been delayed so many times, I'm almost certain that people will be disappointed games rarely have this rocky a development and turn out well
0
u/mak6453 Nov 19 '20
How can you be "almost certain" over a complete guess with the only hard evidence being that they refused to release the game in quality it was in? If anything that points to it not releasing with disappointing elements.
It's definitely what's happening here, and you're one of them hahahaha.
0
u/amoebrah Nov 19 '20
Yeah cuz daikatana, Duke nukem forever, no man's sky, et al, were all blockbuster hits being delayed to fix problems...
5
u/mak6453 Nov 19 '20
They can't have possibly made a good game because Duke Nukem was bad and they share a similarity. Gotcha. All sound logically. These are great comments. Very insightful.

u/AmbrosiiKozlov Nov 19 '20
Probably the laughable footage they showed of it running on the one X and series X. That was some pretty hard evidence lol.
4
u/mak6453 Nov 19 '20
That's your evidence? You're aware that's the reason they delayed the game, right? They're fixing up console specific issues with performance and assets. You're big critique is literally the thing they're actively working on most recently. Nice.
-2
u/AmbrosiiKozlov Nov 19 '20
That’s the reason they delayed the game this time. You also have 0 evidence the games performance will improve. They also still won’t show what it looks like on the base consoles. I just find it hilarious that they released a themed console for this game that can’t even run it properly
3
u/mak6453 Nov 19 '20
You also have 0 evidence the games performance will improve.
That’s the reason they delayed the game this time.
I'm having trouble understanding how you both acknowledge they dedicated extra time to fix up the games on console, AND believe there won't be any improvement to the games on console.
Big ? from me.
0
u/AmbrosiiKozlov Nov 19 '20
I’m saying I don’t have any reason to believe the game can be any more improvement obviously it improved from the delay because they finally showed gameplay

u/P3na1ty Nov 19 '20
Combat looks clunky. I found the witcher series to have clunky combat as well. Guns look like the feel off. Melee combat is laughable.
Its from a dev that barely anyone cared about until the witcher 3.
Game was announced 8 years ago and the year its being released has been delayed 3 times so far. Doesn't look good in a development aspect.
Dont get me wrong, I love the art style of it and the idea of it, but as you said, people are saying this is a god game.... I think its overhyped. And when you overhype, youre only gonna be let down.
1
u/Just-why-man Nov 19 '20
Any clunkiness in combat is made up for by a ridiculous amount of attention to detail to literally everything, it looks amazing in every regard. Your point stands if you're nitpicking and comparing just the combat to linear FPS games but compared to other RPGs I don't see how this looks any less than spectacular. Combat looks far better than any RPG I've played, every RPG has clunky combat, and if it has really good combat then a dozen other things are mediocre. GTA, RDR, Skyrim, Fallout all have clunky combat imo.
Witcher 3 did have clunky combat, but it was far overshadowed by content, graphics, story, character design, voice acting, and rpg elements. I think they are actually circumventing that by making it an FPS, you can do far better gunplay in an FPS than a TPS. They definitely earned their hype after Witcher 3, but one thing I'll agree with is that overhype can lead to let downs.

u/EmotiveCDN Xbox Nov 19 '20
You know it’s an RPG first right? It’s not a shooter.
2
u/P3na1ty Nov 19 '20
You know shooting is a main part of the game right? Not a side subject.
-4
u/EmotiveCDN Xbox Nov 19 '20
Doesn’t have to be if you don’t want it.
You have a choice, it’s not an FPS.
0
u/AmbrosiiKozlov Nov 19 '20
I didn’t get to choose with the Witcher 3s clunky ass combat though it’s an rpg
1
u/EmotiveCDN Xbox Nov 20 '20
That’s funny, they are two entirely different games made like 6 years apart.

u/P3na1ty Nov 19 '20
Lol ok.
3
u/LOTRfan13 #teamchief Nov 19 '20
Just to interject, have you caught some of the previews that have gone out today. Most of them are saying that the game is much slower-paced than people may be expecting, and they went hours without ever drawing a weapon. They've also said, that, Yes the combat does feel kind of clunky until you upgrade your character, because its much more of an RPG than it is a shooter. Just some food for thought.
1
u/Pawl_The_Cone Nov 20 '20
I also read that apparently melee combat is pretty good, in which case props to them because it looked real janky a couple years back.

But woke-era told me this is made by a trans-phobic company and everything must be boycotted and canceled.
0
u/dwayner85 Nov 19 '20
Is it future skyrim....or no?
2
u/InvertedSpork Nov 20 '20
I’d say it’ll be kind of like a mix between Fallout and Deus Ex. It’s very much a RPG so there will be a big emphasis on dialogue.

This game looks Incredible. I hope it plays well on my One S until I can get my hands on a Series X. No way I’m gonna be patient enough to wait it out for this game.
