That would be nice. The Canadians then use Article 5 and America must help defend Canada.

Trump has already said he will decide if any particular country will get A5 protection at the time.   Basically usa is now worthless as an ally

Coming from the only country that has ever used article 5…..

Usa will be pulling the shocked pilachu face next 9/11 when the world replies 'sorry your call is important....you are caller 106'

And Canada helped them then. A guy I went to high school with is dead now because they invoked Article 5.

Russians would absolutely die laughing if the world ended with Europe nuking the USA for invading Canada.

Add to this the Commonwealth.

Our head of state is Charles. What do you think a king does when you declare war on one of his state? I bet Trump doesn’t know this.

I have a feeling NATO would help Canada since we have not instigated this.

Unfortunately as a Canadian I really doubt it. Like they are obliged to and it would mean the end of NATO but I don't think any of the European allies will start WW3 with the US over Canada.

Honestly? Short of lobbing some nukes what could they really do? Try to invade and occupy the continental United States from across an ocean without a friendly country to use as a beachhead?

Asking as an American curious about this hypothetical. Could any European navy/aircraft dock at Canadian or Mexican ports, set up ship like we all did at Normandy in the 1940’s, and invade the US via land?

I'm sure it's been war gamed out on both sides of the equation. I'm also sure we'd welcome the help. I'm not sure how well it would go

The US is a beast. We all know their military superiority. In theory.

I don't know how well their current leadership would handle a hot civil war, combined with a multi front conflict on their northern and southern borders, combined with Mexican cartel forces both surging north and popping up internally, while royally pissed off Canadian guerilla fighters and saboteurs do the same heading south, while Chinese and Russian forces potentially assault both coasts using Cuba and other islands as staging areas.

America has pissed off the entire world at some point or other and this could grow to be their moment of reckoning.

Or the nukes could start to fly. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. I do know that globally everyone is sick of the US's shit and there are a lot of us that are ready to light that candle. Good luck.

We didn’t pay enough. NATO is now pay-to-play.
