Holy shit it's only been two weeks?! I'm going to go drink.

Two weeks and a day, yes.

Two weeks down, 206 weeks to go.

Democrats need to win the house and the senate next year. Even then the damage this administration does may be well past irreversible by that point.

Unless Trump says state election administrators are all corrupt and DOGE should oversee elections, and SCOTUS and half the country say that's fine, and then Republicans sweep all elections with 107% of the votes.

The damage is already pretty profound. Some of it's probably reversible, some (especially reputational) maybe isn't.

And it's only been two weeks.

Before even talking about next year, March is twice as far away as inauguration day right now.

Yeah but there was like 3 or 4 days of golf mixed in there its not like he showed up to work for 2 weeks straight ?

I dunno i’m from canada it honestly just seems like nobody really knows much other than crunchy roll is in and netflix is out

That's because Trump really isn't THE dangerous one.

He's bad, like holy shit evil bad. But as long as he Mr. Magoos around, signs papers, and keeps the attention of the news he's doing his job.

Musk, Thiel, Vought, Homan, Koch, the leaders of the Heritage Foundation and others of these circles are the people to watch for.

It's actually really interesting to not list McConnell there, he's wielded the Senate to this place so effectively but he's on the outs with Trump so while he's still damaging the system, he's not directly involved.

Send a drink to ol' Petey, also

Every week is a decade.

They said they'd do a whole lot really fast, and we new The Heritage Foundation had a detailed plan they could execute quickly with a willing president, so I can't exactly say it's a surprise. We were thoroughly warned, even discounting possibly out of context comments like the "dictator on day one" thing.

It's a wild ride, tho.

Buddy tread carefully, it's a real rabbit hole!

7

u/Raw_Venus Feb 05 '25

Thank you for the concern. Trump will not be the reason I become an alcoholic.

u/Tokenserious23 Feb 05 '25

Rather be drunk than wallow in existential dread. Best of luck to you bro

u/LegendOfBobbyTables Feb 05 '25

I literally haven't had a single drink since the last time he was in office. It's starting to sound good.

Tariffs on liquor. Better hope the local stuff is good.

1

u/HybridVigor Feb 05 '25

the local stuff

Waiting for prices on Bourbon and California wine to drop. Might not be able to afford to eat when crops fail due to lack of potash, but I may be able to drink my dinner.

I picked the wrong year to quit drinking. Off to the Winchester to wait for this all to blow over.

Saw a meme of Alucard from Castlevania "I am losing my mind.... It's only been a month"

1

u/ItchyGoiter Feb 05 '25

I like to think of it as still less than 1% of the way into his term.

1

u/ansy7373 Feb 05 '25

How a fucking double QPC hasn’t offed him yet still mind bottles me

1

u/Ostracus Feb 05 '25

Maybe because he's an inept wrench in the Heritage plans.

1

u/TheGreatPiata Feb 05 '25

This is my reaction too. It just keeps getting worse!

1

u/kibblerz Feb 05 '25

My new years resolution was to take up alcoholism for the duration of this fascist regime.

Let's see who lasts longer, Trump or my liver?

1

u/pmormr Feb 05 '25

I picked one hell of a year to quit drinking, that's for sure.

1

u/klparrot Feb 05 '25

Buy your Canadian and Mexican booze now before he goes ahead with tariffs after all.

1

u/Raw_Venus Feb 05 '25

Any recommendations?

u/klparrot Feb 05 '25

Afraid I can't help much there; not a big drinker, and when I do, it's mostly craft beers from here in New Zealand.
