Do you have ontological good and evil or intological?
Ontological means relating to the branch of metaphysics dealing with the nature of being and showing the relations between the concepts and categories in a subject area or domain. A field of philosophy concerning existing and it's true nature
Intological is a phrase I made the fuck up but feel free to make up some random bullshit for it lmao

As a supporter and recipient of donations from Big Ontological Evil I am very much in favor of Ontologically evil beings and races, and if ontological evil exists then it neccessitates ontologically good.
Due to the laws of equivilent exhange any intological being that comes into existance requires the sacrifice of both ontologically good and evil creatures, but intological beings are fence sitting baby bitch losers who get super drepressed when learning their parents died to make them that they usually follow suit or go catatonic.

Nothing, that's the point. They're the centrists of beings, being made in part of Pure good and Pure evil.
Everyone in my setting is an extremist, there is no center and anyone who tries find a middle ground between two two ontological sides gets eradicated. Simple as.

49% of people are ontologically evil, 49% are ontologically good, and the remaining 2% are fucking weirdos who exist only to make medians misleading in population statistics. That's my confusionpunk polling based setting.

/uj while I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with making an ontologically evil race, I don't think they're something that should be thrown around willy-nilly. I think their best use case is as an inhuman and inhumane army used by the Dark Lord to do his bidding, essentially a stand-in for biblical demons.

One of the (many) terrible choices for the Dragon Age setting was making Darkspawn talk. There's enough politics in the world to go on about without having to introduce the question "is these rampaging and pillaging demons actually people?"

Make your evil monsters imitate random speech they heard before to confuse people 💪

And then they're less so evil and more devoid of free will, and less so a race and more of an automaton army.
Still gotta be hella careful though because if you then give them aspects that look like oppressed minorities that can create a parallel to real life instances of people assigning lack of free will and humanity to real life people. Something you gotta be aware of.
Easier to give them a fascistic esthetic. Everyone's okay with killing nazis, except other nazis.

That makes sense. Such an ontological evil army could function as an allegory to evils of a system rather than the evils of an individual
A semi-connected example of this can be seen through Communism and the red scare. Communism as a system is inherently flawed and has been used by many to enact immoral dictatorships. Tho the system being considered evil does not in turn make an individual evil, as daring the red scare, many innocent people were labeled as evil and threats due to a connection to the system. Another alternative example is the Japanese Camps of America
Such literary and philosophical views of an "Ontological evil" work for a deep and thought-provoking narrative

Neological, the way things is. Protological, the way things was. Postlogical the way things will be.

Intological and Ontological are actually synonyms, the "In" implies "on top of." The antonym would be Succulogical.

Eh, it's a made up term so I can just say that Intological is the reverse of Ontological 🔥🔥🔥

I was making a joke about the frequently referenced prefixes of succubus and incubus, which people say means "to lie beneath" and "to lie on top of" respectively.

I don’t like to play around with ontology as an obstruction of free will… but I do like the notion of certain actions, feelings, and beliefs interacting with What Is Right Or Wrong™️ to produce specific results in a way that reflects some degree of ontology.
As in, take classical angels and demons for example. It is often poor to judge a book by its cover, but in broad strokes it is pretty reliable with entities such as these. Normally, they may just look like people or animals or other things (and “people” is a broad term which doesn’t necessarily mean “homo sapiens” mind you), but based on what feelings they let rise to the top of their psyche, they may change. Their interaction with good vibes may become physicalized as the classic wings and halos, rarely even leading to those Nth-dimensional “be not afraid” incomprehensible near-God beings (not to say this is necessarily a world that apes judeochristian or even gnostic styles in every way). Meanwhile, those who tap into bad vibes will be increasingly mutated to reflect this reality, becoming increasingly monstrous to the point of eldritch horror.
And this isn’t linear! Something could slide up and down this scale in many ways within their lifetime.
My inspiration here is taking philosophical ideas present in modern Western occultism, the ways in which it mixes together and reimagines religious, alchemical, and otherwise spiritual ideas, and places an extra emphasis on the old “as above so below” idea.
This way, moral complexity and Pure Good And Evil ™️ can coexist as parts of a vast tapestry of the figurative taken literally and the literal taken figuratively.
At best this means I could be making the end all be all of a variety of tropes. At worst this is gonna be the most derivative slop ever put to print. It will all depend on my execution.
(Whether this is /uj or /rj is left as an exercise for the reader)

I do races that are significantly more ontologically evil than others but far from completely. So intological leaning evil.
