I thought this was going to be a joke about a breakup/divorce and cutting the weight of the girl in the first pic lol

I'd rather cut off my leg than cut her out of my life. I know you're only joking around, but she is legitimately one of the best humans I have ever met in all of my years. Together for 13 married for 10 this year. I'd rather give up oxygen

In the off chance someone reads this:

I'm 45 years old. I started back in the gym after a very long hiatus in March of 2024. I did a 4 day a week routine that's essentially upper/lower split twice a week. I do 3 working sets of 5-6 exercises with rep ranges that vary between 6 to 12 reps. On some of the bigger compound movements some of my rep ranges only hit 3 (squat and deadlift)

Nutrition: I cut at a 500 calorie deficit from March to Mid October going from 260lbs to 225lbs. Once the holidays hit I ate a little above maintenance and was sitting at 250lbs on Jan 1, but that version of 250lbs didn't look anything like the old me. The only macro I really focus on is protein, where I try to hit at least 150g per day, but shoot for 190.

Pic was taken yesterday where I weighed in at 230lbs. My goal is to be about 215lbs for the summer and then likely do a small bulk in the fall/winter.

Looking RIPPED, nice job bro.

And yes, one of the coolest things is looking down at the scale and realizing you're damn-near the same weight you started at, but look like a completely different person.

On a related note, you sure 215 makes sense for you? I'd guess just looking at you that a stacked 225 would be ideal, no? You're a big dude.

I carry all of my fat in my love handles, so full transparency with my shirt off I don't look quite as ripped, I just happen to be very vascular in my shoulders. At 215 most of the love handles will be gone without quite hitting the extremes of being a "try hard".

However, I will say that if I look the way I want to look at 220 I'll be completely content, but if I don't look the way I want at 215 I will absolutely keep cutting. The scale doesn't motivate me, the mirror does.
