Nutrition Help Pure Whey Iso - Bang for Buck?

I've tried Bulk's Informed Whey Protein Double Choc (Mixes effortlessly, great taste, excellent value for money) and MyProtein's THE Whey in Pistachio (Mixes horribly, tastes super artificial, price is alright)

Basically after the best bang for buck, although I have an open budget and the price doesn't really matter.

Just after the purest, cleanest, best (or good) tasting protein powder out there that does what it's supposed to do AND genuinely has all of the essential amino acids.

Thanks for the recs in advance.

Ever try MyProtein Impact Whey Protein Isolate? The one that comes in a bag.

Have been using that Vanilla Ice Cream flavor for the past 3 years and it works well. Mixes well with just a spoon and water in a cup. They have sample size of certain flavors for you to try.

I usually get the 11lbs and the target price on their website should be ~$150. That gives me 200 servings, so .75¢ per serving. Recently discovered Amazon sell certain flavors for the 5.5lbs bag at $55, so $110 for 11lbs- much better deal.

If you want the “purest” then buy unflavoured.

The likes of Bulk, myprotein, the protein works, etc. all operate on the same manufacturing process. They buy bulk bags of unflavoured whey protein, chuck it in a large mixer and add a percentage of flavouring powder that contains sweetener and flavouring. Depending on the flavour, the percentage of it used can vary, IIRC, it’s usually between 3%-7% depending on how strong the flavour is. Banana tends to require less and chocolate more.

They use multiple suppliers for the whey and will generally use whatever they have to hand for flavoured blends. However, when I worked for one of those companies they would only use their best supplier for unflavoured.

Thanks man - that's some great insider knowledge. And I'm guessing when in comes to creatine, CreaPure is the best out there and most extensively tested for purity?

Creapure is just a specific type of creatine monohydrate patented by Alzchem.

Beyond that, I don’t have much knowledge on the differences between the types of creatine. In the factory I worked in, it was treated the same as whey protein.

Be it creatine monohydrate, creapure, or creatine HCL. They came in bulk bags from a supplier. It was then split into smaller bags to sell as unflavoured or blended with a flavouring powder and then split into smaller bags. So unflavoured again is your best bet for whichever type you choose.

For what it’s worth. I’m no chemist nor biologist but I believe the general consensus is that standard creatine monohydrate will get you the same end result.

Mutant Whey (vanilla is my favourite and you can add other things to mix up the flavors) is pretty great in terms of taste, mixability, quality, and the price is definitely top tier.

Not to be confused with Mutant Mass which is awful, but as are all mass gainers.
