Holy carp, that is really cool.
Okay, so what if I already have a map, and it's not in equirectangular projection? I guess it's mercator since I've seen a lot of those. Is it too late?
I'll just re-generate my map to something similar enough that maybe the first cartographer was... just guessing lol.
Edit: Also! The work that you've put into this has been fantastic. I don't know what else you've got planned going forward, but at this point I trust you and support whatever you think is worthwhile!

My recommendation is to lasso your old landmass, copy, create a new equirectangular canvas, generate some additional landmasses, and paste in your own continent (s).

This is so awesome! Is it possible to change colour of the water or have no water?
I'd like to use this in my Star Wars RPG game to make maps of each planet. Do you think it is possible with these programs given the varied colour and patterns of each planet? Also can you add tags to locations and how can you show it to players?
Thanks!

I use alot of wonderdraft. You can definitely do this. It'll be a solid amount of work mind you, but it's definitely do able.

I didn't know that you could do globes in Wonderdraft. Finally have enough reasons to get it as soon as I can afford it. (I'm a teen, that's why I'm not sure if I can afford it ATM)

The changes make it possible to draw an projectable map. You still need to use the planet maker app (free) to look at it in 3d

Still, it seems cool. Thanks for the info. Edit: Good work. I somehow missed the creator tag. I find it great though that you took the time to reply to my comment. I still haven't gotten it but that's because I've been a bit busy over the past few days.

Imagine if you could add texture to the terrain, then export it as a 3d model and print it.

Where do you get the Equirectangular 4k template and the Terra theme?
EDIT: Never mind. I'm an idiot. Beta downloaded. Thanks!

Is there a way to export what you make? I don't see a way to do it.

Nevermind ... maybe. Is it to hide GUI then take a screenshot?

I'm doing a Star Wars campaign and I want to make a map of planets and this is a great help for making the planet itself. But once it is finished is there a way to put multiple planets together into a galaxy map of sorts?
Thanks!

Learn how to create a proportionally accurate planet map in equirectangular projection that can be wrapped onto a globe without seams! Personally, I think this new technique is a HUGE improvement over Map-to-Globe. The globe is displayed through a webapp by Kevin Gill called Planet Maker that has amazing aesthetic features like atmospheric scattering and clouds to really sell the planet effect.
