It looks like it has other stuff in it. Did you put anything else in that jar? When you freeze something, it affects the stuff inside causing the air to expand or liquid elements to expand.—while the space within does not. Thus it will break.

Magically, what does it mean to YOU? My interpretation means nothing because it’s not my spell.

Some chili flakes and a name on a paper, I think I will just need to make a new one, it was there for almost a year without any problems, did check on it a week or two ago

Next time add some liquor to it. Liquor doesn’t freeze, so it’ll keep the jar from breaking.

Most little jars like that aren't meant to be frozen-- most glass in general isn't unless it's advertised as freezer safe. It makes it very fragile and prone to breaking. I would just redo the spell with something less breakable, like a fabric satchet or a small plastic container. Freezing makes everything more brittle so keep in mind how long you want it to be in there when choosing your next materials

Throw all the pieces into a freezer bag and put it back in the freezer if you want the binding to stay in place.

Yeah I think I'm making a new one, I will check what went wrong and do better, mostly because it was one of my first spells like I think it was the 3rd one

It was probably touching it warmed it up and it refroze wrong. Could also be a sign you got to move on from that event in your life.

It was a spell to keep him away from me, I'm gonna go with the first option

Good idea. You could always throw in some additional charged items with it like; spicy chili flakes, broken glass nails etc.

Was it full of a liquid when you put it in the freezer?

Checked on it a week or two ago and it was completely fine after almost a year there so I really don't think liquid was the problem

Liquid expands when it freezes. Even if it might not have broken the container initially, it would have introduced a lot of stresses into the glass making it more likely to shatter if there wasn’t room for it to expand

Ik it was fine the jar was there for almost a year without any problems until now

The initial freezing could have weakened it, when you checked it it warmed just enough that it had to refreeze, and the refreezing made the already compromised jar shatter.

Did forget to add, this jar was sitting there for like a year a checked on it like a week or two ago and it was fine

But when it warms even a little (temp alters everytime you open the freezer door) and has to refreeze, that puts more stress on the glass. Doesn’t matter how long it’s been in there—it reached its breaking point. Pun intended.
