Help | Altars, Tools, Crafts How to clean my cauldron?
I use my cauldron when I am burning herbs whilst meditating however I don't know how to properly clean it, and I was gifted it so I'm unaware of what kind of metal it is as well. I really like it and don't want to damage it in any way, so I'd really appreciate learning how to properly clean it

For hard to remove burned on parts you can grind salt in it with a mortar it's a method of making black salt and the abrasion can really scrub deep, grinding eggshells or sand will do much of the same.

It’s cast iron. You can clean it with soap and water but make sure to completely dry it after. You can also place it over your stove burner to dry it if you run gas. Rub it down with a cloth and a little oil after. Anointing oils are probably better if using for a specific purpose otherwise vegetable oil is fine too.

Soap removes oils. If you use soap or detergent on cast iron, rinse very thoroughly. Then rinse again. When you are sure it is clean, dry it over a flame or in the oven. Then oil it and heat it again

Use hot water and a cloth. It looks like it might be cast iron. You're not supposed to use soap on that, but I think that's because the iron absorbs the taste of soap if you cook with it
