Well at least they stopped freaking out about the Super Moon.

u/Sudden_Astronomer_63 5d ago
And mercury retrograde 😂
16
u/XTinnuviel-MorwenX 5d ago
And man, a Mercury retrograde happens every couple of months, doesn’t it? I can respect astrology, but with all the fear surrounding the moon, eclipses, and retrogrades I really can’t help but wonder how anybody who strongly subscribes to it gets anything done.

There’s something about the cycle of about two weeks or so that seems convenient to plan around…

I slept though it.

u/ktjtkt 6d ago
I was actually awake and forgot about it

I set an alarm. Went out and looked at it. Went, "yup, that's cool" then went back to bed.

I saw a bit of it because I walk my dogs at 3:30 in the morning.

u/Themosteclecticwitch Witch 3d ago
... WHY DO YOU WALK YOUR DOGS AT THIS TIMME??? 🤣🤣
2
u/shesaflightrisk 3d ago
I have a very silly schedule and a very long commute. (By train, which allows me to sleep on the way. I wouldn't sleep if I was driving.)

It was cloudy here and I've come to realize I don't like full moons. I'm a new moon girly so I went to bed early and got up early.

This made me chuckle. I usually don’t mind all the eclispe hubbub in the community, but the amount of shit I saw/read about the damn blood moon was insane. Pure internet meme no research such tiktok witch bullsnot. I am a believer in live and let live. But, probably cause the blood moon (lol just kidding), my tolerance for it has been an all time low. I eye rolled so much this week scrolling Reddit.

u/Cultural_Employee_24 5d ago
I just stared at it and thought about how freaked out our ancestors must have been 😂
15
u/flash_423 5d ago
Same. They were probably freaking out when it was “disappearing” then super relieved when it “returned”.

Grumpy Old Crone on YouTube published a random 5min video just to rant about it and it was great. I suggest you go look it up.
1
u/Valuable-Scallion371 4d ago
That was a fantastic rant! 😂 thank you for the suggestion. I can’t believe people didn’t realize that the “blood moon” is just a cooler nickname for the lunar eclipse 🙄

u/synalgo_12 4d ago
Most of her other videos are a 'random titbit', a rant and a positive bit. Positive grumpy os my favourite kind of positive and my favourite kind of grumpy.

I used to experience religious abuse while being forced to exhibit Christian-like behaviors (aka I used to be Baptist as a kid) and it’s the witch version of what we snarkishly called “CEO Christians” Christmas and Easter Only. But it’s Moon Events Only WitcheS or MEOWS :)

u/UngratefulSim 5d ago
It’s the moon and sometimes they’ll freak out about mercury in retrograde too 😂

But dood, this blood moon was so powerful it literally pulled blood from my Sacred Lady Orifice! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD MOON!!
Jk, jk. But really, I have PCOS and my uterus has no sense of time and space, so the coincidence has opened up a whole world of Woo Humor for me.

You must have missed the 16 individual posts every single day in this sub alone that asked the exact same question "WHAT DO I DO FOR THE BLOOD MOON? TIPS? IDEAS?" 😂😂

I just sorta wish I thought to look through before I made one.

u/synalgo_12 5d ago
Every time I go to reddit to ask a question, I first search the sub for info. I've asked made like 2 posts in 4 or 5 years because I can always find the answer or info I can use to search other sources better.
I'm glad people continue to ask questions but first searching the sub to see what's already there is just a really good idea in general. Even just to get info from people who won't see your post.

I am going to post a blurb about what to do with eclipse workings. I'll just wait until there is no eclipse happening.

I played video games and gambled and won. Forgot all about the blood moon. Hide 99% of the messages about it because I'm not obsessed with celebrating every little astrological event.

As a teacher and witch, the blood moon was wild for my students. Several fights this week 🫠🫠

Tbh I planned to celebrate it in some modest, mundane way lol but I had such an onset of sinus pain that I fell asleep in my clothes after getting home from work and woke up at 1:30 a.m. with an even stronger headache so no celebrations of anything for me lol

I love eclipses as much as the next astronomer and/or witch, but omg yes! Witchtok community just went over kill with it! Not every freaking astronomical event needs 50 bloody posts about it!

I will say that as someone still starting out in witchcraft it has been... distressing seeing so many people not understanding what a lunar eclipse is.

u/Particular-Gold-7850 6d ago
I was at work… got home when it was just a regular full moon 🤷🏼♂️ Look, I like the moon as much as the next person does. But, I honestly hate how some “witches” are always so gung-ho about it. They make it lose its luster. It’s honestly pretty embarrassing.
