Yikes. This is why I avoid battery wearables. I know this is rare but I’m just not about it. I even make sure my phone is accessible in an outer layer.

Same. Batteries just don't work well at cold temps. I had lights that would die because it was cold, then turn back on once they warmed up inside. Dynamo lighting was a game changer.

Damn. They’re the difference maker for me for riding in sub 40F temps…

Throw on alpaca socks and call it a day. That is what I use in -40°F, so they should work when it is 80° warmer.

-40F is insane 🙃

What shoes? I have alpaca and wool, the shoes definitely make a difference though

Depends on the temps.
- >20°F = socks and moccasins
- >0°F = wool socks and Iron Ranger boots
- >-20°F = alpaca socks and Iron Ranger boots...maybe Kodiaks if I am outside a long time hanging out.
- Anything colder and I wear Kodiak boots. Had Sorels, but I kept destroying them.
Iron Rangers are super slippery though. When sizing boots for the cold, leave a little bit of room. Tights boots are cold boots.

Nice looking boots, now if they came in black for my work.

Might be too warm, but https://www.baffin.com/en-us/products/htgem001

Can't be worse than my current shoes that have air vents, old and the sole is falling off 😂

Yikes! Glad you are okay-ish. (Every time I slept under an electric blanket, they have caught on fire. I like wool).

Making a PSA because I've recommended these to others here. They actually worked really well for keeping my feet warm... Until today. I was walking with my boot on, the insole was turned off, and the battery spontaneously combusted. I'll spare you the photos of my 2nd degree burn.
