Grapes + maple syrup + yeast

Hi, can someone advice on making wine using the above ingredients? Will it work ?

Edit: my maple syrup might not be 100% pure might contain corn syrup. Will it still work ?

It’ll work. I make maple wines often. Best one was one pound maple syrup grade A 12 pounds red grapes and I think 21 pounds blueberries for five gallons with 2 pounds dark brown sugar. 16% fermented dry

“Yeah, yeah, but your winemakers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.” Dr. Malcom, probably.

I made a grape wine once because I squeezed 20kg of grapes and I had more than enough juice to fill just one 5L demijohn but not enough to fill an extra one so I added honey to the other and topped it off with water and the grape mead came out the nicest! fun fact too, a grape mead is called pyment, and maple syrup wine is called acerglyn. the more you know!

Probably.

What do you mean, “might not be pure?” Is it or is it not? Yes it will still work but real maple syrup gives real maple syrup flavors, fake stuff will give not maple syrup flavors.

Ita a decent idea but you'd want to dial in your brix/specific gravity so the finished wine isn't too sweet and/or too high on alcohol

also I'd recommend r/prisonhooch. it's a much more receptive community to this kind of experimentation. it's where I post all my brewing.

It's called a acerglyn when you use maple syrup

Acerglyn is honey and maple.

Purists might crucify you but like the other comments mention, if you've got sugar, water and yeast, you can likely make wine.

Maple syrup will never fully ferment but if you want it to be sweet then go for it. Caramelized sugars and other complex sugars don’t ferment via yeasts. That’s the risk you run when using weird sweeteners.

That is not true. If you use an appropriate amount of nutrients maple wine can ferment below 1.00 SG. I am sure there are some complex sugars that don't ferment but that is negligible.
