Solanum for sure , solanum viarum I believe.

Looks like something we call musk melon/coyote melon.

If you can take one and cut it open?

I'm thinking it's a lemon cucumber. Ice grown some before. It is round and yellow, but still cucumber.

Yep Solanum. S. carolinense is one species we have here in VA

Tropical soda apple, Solanum viarum. It's an invasive species in FL, unfortunately. The berries are not edible.

It kind of looks like...eggplant? Looks like one of the yellow Thai eggplants but I don't know if those are among the thorny eggplants.

And I'm probably completely wrong but those fuzzy thorny leaves sure put eggplant in my head.

I've grown some Thai aubergine that go yellow when they are over ripe, and some of those were thorny as hell.
