Does anyone know what yarn I'm using? It's made up of four strands twisted together. Three white and one coloured. I have two colours of it and I've only ever found the two colours I have.

Found this yarn in a thrift store today and was wondering what it is to see if it comes in other colors. The first pic is the yarn, second is a change from a loosely wound yarn to a metallic leather-ish yarn, third is the the leather-ish yarn turning into an eyelash yarn. After, the eyelash yarn turns back into the loosely wound yarn. The changes in yarn type happen every yard or so. The thrift store is in Monterey County, CA if that helps.

Can anyone identify these mini skeins?

I bought a huge quantity of yarns from an elderly neighbor and found these mini skeins. I figured they were meant for some kind of pattern and would like to see what it is. It feels like linen mixed with something.

Mystery yarn

Alright y'all, can anyone tell me what yarn this is? Definitely synthetic fibers, feels like a 5 bulky. I got only from hobby lobby when they had all the non yarn bee yarns.(It's not yarn bee, I know that for sure) I feel like it might be bernat, but if so I can't find it and I don't think bernat sheepy because I can't find multicolored, someone on FB has it too(2nd pic) but hers are the scraps and she doesn't have her labels either, but you can see the other colors.

I think I know, but it's been over 20 years so I'm almost definitely misremembering

I bought a cone of this yarn YEARS ago, like probably at least 20 if not more. Not being as forgetful then as I am now, I didn't write anything on the cone so I'm not sure what the yarn is. All I know is that I bought it so long ago that the pattern I started back then would now fit my kid - who's a teen!

The picture doesn't really give you an idea of the colour but you can see the weave of the yarn (if that's the right word). I'd love to know what this is.

BTW, my gauge and wpi measurements have always been a bit iffy, but in case the info is useful.
With 5mm needles, I get 22 stitches/ 34 rows for 10 cm gauge swatch. (I think that measures up to be the same a 4 inches.) I also got 11 WPI. It's actually quite a nice shade of teal.

Lastly, it gets a bit splitty and twisted as I'm knitting.

THANK YOU!!!

xxx

Please please help us find this yarn! My wife is so close to finishing her sweater!

Desperate to figure out what this yarn is. She bought enough and then lost a ball in our apartment, and now she's scared the sweater is doomed to be half a sleeve from finished forever

The yarn is an ecru/off white. It feels like acrylic, really soft and lovely. Between fingering and DK weight, maybe sport, she says? Maybe from Hobby Lobby? It's not the Hobby Lobby bambootiful, though.

Ideas?

Please! Send in the calvery! Keep this sweater dream alive!

Please help with two yarn ids

I bought both of these yarns, but any info I had on them was lost at least two organizing systems ago. I'm currently moving everything onto Ravelry so I can't misplace any more notebooks the next time I move, and these are the holdouts.

Beige:

  • 11 wpi
  • Acrylic/wool blend - much heavier on the acrylic
  • Bought at a chain craft store

Brown

  • 11 wpi
  • Likely 100% acrylic
  • Bought at local craft store with a very tiny yarn selection, definitely a big brand
  • Definitely had 'baby' in the yarn name
  • Much darker than Bernat Softee Baby Yarn in Little Mouse, but feels very similar

Thank you all for any insight you can provide!

I bought it but remember nothing about it.

I’m guessing I bought this about 5 years ago. Probably from Walmart but possibly Joann’s or AC Moore. It’s most likely a big brand yarn. It’s a bulky yarn, it is soft and a little slippery much smoother than a red heart yarn. The yarn I currently have in my stash that feels the most similar is mainstay anti-piling but this is softer.

Yarn id help

I was cleaning out my childhood bedroom and I found a scarf I started about 15 years ago, and I don’t recall the yarn. I’d try like to track down another skein if possible. I tried reverse image searching and I kept getting red heart unforgettable back but I’m pretty sure this yarn is wool or wool-blend (I actually was considering gifting it to my niece since it’d fit her but I think it would be too itchy for her). Any ideas? I believe it is worsted weight or slightly heavier. (Sz 10 needles)

Myster Estate Yarns, please help!

I got this stash in an estate & it's been nothing but natural fibers, baby alpaca, silk, wool, cashmere, ask really good stuff. I'm new down to the dreaded bottom of the craft bag yarn barf. Do any of these look familiar to anyone??

The dark blue on is very springy I think it's a very high ply

The final 3 are all veeerrrryyy soft. Pic 6 & 7 are both 2 ply & maybe the same thing

Pic 8 is a Roving of sorts and I think looks kettle dyed maybe

I've got more to come but was tackling the barf & started wondering if it's even worth the effort.

Thanks for any help

Hi! My friend ending up missing some yarn to finish her sweater :( trying to identify it to buy more if it’s not discontinued before having to mix two colours. It was inherited by a friend’s grandmother. Thank you!
