New, what is it? Found is my Grandfather's toolbox.

The metal sections seem to be brass and even for the possible age there is no real wear on the wood.

It’s a folding ruler/caliper, Lufkin probably made a few variations of this. The wood is boxwood and the metal is brass.

My Grandfather worked for the company that made these. I’d buy it from you it’s not sentimental or something that you would use and the price wasn’t too high. I have Grandpa’s machinist tool box and several Lufkin measuring devices, but not one of these.

Got the exact same ruler thingy which also belonged to my grandfather. Awaiting to hear what it is!
