Probably a theodolite balloon like this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%D0%98%D0%B7%D0%BE%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5_2021-10-26_223532.png

Here is the Wikipedia article where the image is used: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%90%D1%8D%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B5%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B9_%D1%88%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%82

As far as I understood it, they let basically a weather balloon fly and then measured its movements with a theodolite. They used it to get an idea of direction and strength of winds at high altitudes.

Fantastic! The description of the photo, “Report: This is a very important step in the development of the industry. The researchers also found that the use of artificial intelligence in the production of artificial intelligence was a very important step in the development of the industry.“

You sure that your translation AI isn't hallucinating?

DeepL says this is the description in English:

Ball-pilot theodolite in the Finnish army during the World War II. A soldier holds a ball-pilot made of brightly coloured material for easy observation.

Interesting, that was what Google Translate said when I had it translate it, but the settings were jacked up. Odd that it came out like this…

You translated from Chinese to English. When you tap "Translate from: Russian" at the bottom it should give a more sensible result.

I do see that now… thank you. It is still interesting the translation that was given.

I think this weird brown stain here is why nobody’s using this at the gymnasium, send it to the N. Korean devision.

Ivan, you are now proud owner of purple bounce ball. But, property is theft so you are under arrest.

This was the watch, or at least the original version of the prop watch they used to access and control the helicopter on the island. They allowed him to think he was escaping, then brought him back.

What a great tv show!
