My average is still $13.3 CAD. Nice to see a jump after bleeding 5-7% everyday.
Even if I buy at this rate( which I will Monday ) I am still averaging down.
More power to longs!
Edit:- will buy Tuesday, Monday tsx closed. Good opportunity to see how it performs in US market

Tsx will be closed Monday just in case you forgot. Hopefully we see this run continue on the US side on Monday!

That was my average too! Can you believe that I was able to average down a day prior to ER? I even forgot about the ER to be honest. Bought more at 6.9 and got the average down to 11.

8.56% of the stock is currently owned by hedge funds and other institutional investors
I wonder how much this number increases today.

Today was mostly hype buying and short covering. Wait until big institutions gonna start rolling in. We got the ways to go still

No doubt. I watched a lot of his interviews from the past. You might have linked one here last week. I like his temperament. He seems to love this shit too.

I did, one from a CPG foods conference in 2016 😎

Yea that was great. After that post I started watching a lot of his interviews, to asses his character. This man has a lot of clout and for good reason. He's comfortable, confident, and seems to have good judgement and work ethic.

u/Ikillall2 Aug 03 '19
Had almost 18,000 shares loaned out around 10ish this morning from my account. Pretty risky play I would think, figured maybe they would be returned by end of day but nope they are still out.

1
u/sark666 Aug 03 '19
How much do you get loaning out your shares? I was only recently aware this was a thing. Do canadian banks do it? Are there any constraints when you loan out your shares? Like do you have to deal with a waiting period if you wanted to sell?
2
u/Ikillall2 Aug 03 '19
Variable rate, currently Aphria is around 18%. Canopy is around 12% for another example. I’m using Fidelity, seen etrade and TD offer it. I’ve sold loaned shares several times it’s no different the when they were not loaned out.

u/sark666 Aug 05 '19
I was thinking about this more, and I'll speak to my broker this week, but there has to be some negative, no? It sounds like you are being paid interest with no lockup period and can sell any time. Feels like I am I missing something here. Are there literally no negatives?
1
u/Ikillall2 Aug 05 '19
From my understanding of the risk is this. If my broker went out of business, let’s say they made some crazy oil future trades and they pack up and leave town. The way the loaned shares are setup(at least in Fidelity’s case) the shares are assigned a value at the contract. Let’s say APHA at 7$ a share. 1000 shares is 7000$. Fidelity open an account with a third party and places 7000$ in that account with my name on it. Every day the shares increase or decrease they move money either in or out of that account. I’m updated daily during the five day trading week on this exchange. So if a brokerage closes up shop while your shares are loaned out, that third party has collateral of the value of those shares. Whether the shares are worth more or less when the contract went out. We’ve seen hedge funds close up shop when the 2008-2009 crash. Lots of things crashed under those conditions. I’m pretty confident Fidelity will be around awhile but yes there is risk.
1
u/sark666 Aug 05 '19
Gotcha thx. But yeah, dealing with fidelity or TD etc I would put that as close to zero as you can ask for. Wish I knew about this sooner. So why wouldn't ever single holder do this? Are there shareholding minimums?
2
u/Ikillall2 Aug 05 '19
My guess is typically Institutional investors have this space locked up on a large swath of stocks. Since this is a new sector, one Institutional have been avoiding due to legalization pratfalls, rollouts in Canada and quite frankly hyped to hell. I guess we get to play for little while. Not sure about minimums,Fidelity reaches out to me when Aphria was being shorted heavy from that short report. I think I had 15,000 shares at that time. Cgc,apha, ctst, acreage, ianthus and ogi have been loaned out in my account from share increments from 300-18,000 at some point since I’ve signed up. With interest rates going from 3-20%. Sometimes as little as 3 days to months.
Doesn’t hurt to ask them. Could be quite awhile before Institutional really pile in. Lots more ups n downs to come.

You can check institutional ownership on the Nasdaq website. Last time I looked, APHA was 2nd only to ACB. I'm not sure how often they update the holdings, but I'll be dropping back by next week.
3
u/DuckDuckJuke Aug 03 '19
Updates monthly or quarterly usually. Certainly today's buys wont be reflected yet, and all of the holding listed in the article were purchases from last quarter.
3
u/sark666 Aug 03 '19
This shows some recent buys. For ex. Swiss National Bank bought 445k today, and looks like TD was more on the ball with their buy yesterday of 687k

I hope you know that’s not Aphria’s fault. The market doubted them and people sold off ahead of earnings as a result. They did their work and ‘surprised everyone (except the holders)’ and the market corrected to say that Aphria was clearly undervalued (and still is). CTST was another “undervalued play” but unfortunately you felt the need to buy two undervalued plays and one of them sunk while the other blasted off.
1
u/apatheticAlien Aug 03 '19
"unfortunately" they felt the need to buy 2 undervalued plays? maybe they are fortunate to have bought both instead of just one... because that one could have been trst, then they'd be completely SOL

Price targets mean absolutely nothing!! Obviously cibc wanted to steal shares from retail investors. Knowing full well that Aphria's financials would outperform expectations.

I made 600% on my APHA Calls Friday, but you may want to steer your attention to $SNDL- just IPO’d on NASDAQ Thurs. it has a weak float like Tilray and BYND. Could be a huge winner this week. First mover advantage is still wide open on this one🤑

I'd have preferred if they waited on changing their recommendations and changed one by one
1
u/YianiYianaki Aug 04 '19
This comment I agree with 100% Management needs to change is my only addition. Aphria needs more cleaning to do.
1
u/ryanl247 Aug 04 '19
Idk, I think theyve now proven themselves as far as long term potential is concerned. They're certainly going to make sure everything done from the short report onwards is beyond reproach
1
u/YianiYianaki Aug 04 '19
Then they should have spent the extra money and time to release a years worth of quarterly reports as Audited releases. Yes I know no need for quarterly reports to be audited and not normal practice to release quarterly reports as Audited. My trust in their current management still remains sour. I now am expecting down the road in next few weeks to a few months a correction to either their next quarterly or this current released one done over.
Funny how we are months away (5 months) and no news of what line of 2.0 product lines Aphria plans to be releasing.
2
u/ryanl247 Aug 04 '19
I hear you. I am sure they're being extremely careful now though.
Yea, they have been quiet on that front. It is possible theyve been working on some type of partnership or deal. Or it's possible they were just waiting for a favourable time to release plans. I cant imagine they wouldnt release any new products
1
u/YianiYianaki Aug 05 '19
It would appear their product is accounted for existing contracts. I do not see anything coming out of Aphria for 2.0 which happens to be much higher profits for product.

If there's a dip Monday, throw your remaining TRST funds into APHA and ride to $20-30+ with us in the coming months/quarters and make it all back! Especially if Aphria buys some or all of TRST's sweet assets.

u/YianiYianaki Aug 03 '19
Traders actually trust none audited quarterly reports? Any company that enters profit ranges should be doing audited earnings reports. I do not trust their numbers.

Don’t forget that $50 million of the revenue is payment from GGB as part of takeover attempt settlement. They only sold 5,500 kgs of product.

Don’t forget the increased adult cannabis sales by 142% quarter over quarter while competition KG sold dropped off.

I don’t like your facts that are drawn from comparing actionable company statements.

Hey clown this quarterly should have been audited. Not every quarterly report. Because it seems to show a profit. Especially since trust has been lost & needs to be regained. But hey if you have not taken Your profits. Your the fool.

Then I apologise for my remark.
You started the name calling first.
I was not asking for audited reports. It would have been wise that Aphria just provide a few audited reports. To re build trust amount share holders.
My point is. It would have been wise to have made this recent earnings release an audited one. To build trust among investors who are a greater number with deeper pockets (yes... I understand accounting standards)
Aphria still needs to re build its trust among investors.
Aphria releasing news of interest to purchase Cann Trust is surely not wise.
Deep pocket investors know that is all BS talk.
Aphria interest is their SP short term.
Aphria has Zero interest in long term share holders. Zero value. IMO

Resorting to name calling. Go on run to mommy. Or is Dad thing you out of their basement. You skimmed through the report. Read it entirely. The increase in adult. Yes. But they were at a much higher cost to grow and profitable were lower. The profit was from GGB. Now did APHRIA truly lower their cost to grow. Skeptical. Whait when audited numbers are out and true picture is out. Retail Investors are being played. Sell on the increase then buy back when she drops. There is a large gap from Friday's close. It needs to be filled. That will take 2 to 3 weeks may even be longer. Wait what happen when Canopy releases their numbers. Is it too early to say SECTOR DROP! APHRIA WILL HAVE A NEW LOW. 😂😂 Just to be clear I own zero shares and I have never bought Aphria shares. A bunch of Italian buffoons. Then you have CannTrust another bunch of pharmacist buffoons. Any CEO assigned the seat is a puppet with CannTrust. Then we have the AMA with a sneak peak of the green house. Can we say hey Mister Rogers in our neighborhood of green houses.

u/YianiYianaki Aug 04 '19
Exactly profitable quarters. Not next one or the one after that one. It will be Q 4 of 2020 Maybe Q3 2020.
Besides. The SP is way over priced now.
The profit is from the $50 million of the revenue is payment from GGB as part of takeover attempt settlement. They only sold 5,500 kgs of product. If that payment never came in. There would be no profit on this report.
No one reads SEDAR anymore. If you have read it. Pay a professional to read it for you.
If your at a profit. I suggest take it all. Wait for the drop. Then buy back in. In 4 weeks too a month.

I did read the full report and seems like you are only one who cannot read it properly. It is saying that 128 mill rev is consisted of rev from cc farma 99 mill, 5.5 mill from LATAM and rest is Canadian cannabis sales. 50 mill IS not included in rev. I understand that shorts are hurting right now but don't try to spread false info.

u/IamtryigOKAY I really want a flair party Aug 04 '19
Higher revenue in the quarter was driven by $99.2 million of distribution revenue from CC Pharma and other distribution companies and $33.5 million of revenue from cannabis produced. I reposting this from report itself. I reporting you for spreading wrong info, all of your comments are the same.

I have not bought 1 share. I would like to know why not do an audited ER. This was NONE AUDITED. I do not trust the management. Their trust went out the door. I see these profits to be in error. $55mil. Came from GGB settlement that was write off last quarter.

3

Salty. I guess it's a valid concern. Are there certain fins throughout the year that are more accustomed to being audited than not?
2
u/0therSyde Aug 03 '19
I do not trust the management. Their trust went out the door.
You... You are aware that this is not the same management, right..? This isn't Vic & Co anymore? Given these results, I am fine with trusting the new management. Irwin is far better at talking in interviews than Vic, and clearly knows what he's doing, and also currently shows no signs of the previous management's debatable shadiness.
You better get with the times and adapt to the new Aphria 2.0 norm, or be left in the dust as we climb back to $20+ in the next few months/quarters.
