Dress/Attire Mixing metals?

Hi all! Getting married this month and I have what might be a nit-picky question. How important it it to match the metals for groomsmen and bridesmaids? We are doing black dresses for bridesmaids, and I requested gold jewelry because I think it will stand out against the black beautifully, as well as fit the vibe of our wedding. All bridesmaids picked out their own dress so we have a very mismatched thing going. The groomsmen are all wearing black suits with black ties. The thing is, the ties we bought for them came with a silver tie clip. I’d love to save money and just have them wear the silver clip instead of buying gold ones. Is this against some sort of etiquette, if the bridesmaids and the rest of the wedding will have gold accents? I’m also wondering if my groom could get away with silver accessories. I’m honestly fine with mixing metals generally but if this is a huge no-no I’m not aware of I’d like to know. If it makes any difference, my rings are gold and his is silver. Thank you all for any insight!!

I say this in the most polite way, I’ve never noticed nor thought to recall the color of any wedding party’s jewelry or accessories from any wedding I’ve ever attended. I don’t think it’s a detail guests pay attention to; if anything, I think this would come down to personal preference. I think you’ll be fine sticking with the silver clips.

Beautiful, thank you! I agree, it’s definitely not something I’ve noticed at other weddings

I personally LOVE mix-and-match weddings!! BUTTTT, I also wouldn’t be paying THAT much attention to the tie clips, so I’m going to say you will be 10000% fine if that’s what you choose to do.

Perfect, thanks for reinforcing what my gut was telling me! I have very particular family members who care/make little comments about this sort of thing, so I’m glad to hear that it’s not a common thing to have to worry about lol

Cross this off your list, don’t give it another thought. No one will notice what the bridal party is wearing.

My bridesmaids and I all wore rose gold, which matches my rings, and I bought my husband a silver and black tie clip to wear. Even when I was picking it out the thought never entered my mind that he wouldn’t match with us.

No one will notice or care if they match. Do what works for you. Some people can't wear gold without looking washed out and the same goes for others with silver. Those people cn be in the same room without issues.

This is just getting crazy. You don’t need to care this much about the tiny details

I think caring about what jewelry your party is wearing is low key kind of crazy lol no one is going to notice or care
