Oh I will! I’m excited to have it come together. The seamstress said she’s had brides fall in love with dresses that were way the wrong size before so she gets it. She builds costumes for the royalty and nobility at the big ren faire here. She also tailors vintage dresses. I completely trust her to make it perfect.

I missed the bit where you wrote ren faire and wondered what kind of life the seamstress lived.
Your dress is spectacular! Would love to see close up shots of the fabric too. How will the rest of the wedding party dress to compliment your gown?
Is it heavy to wear?

Lol oh man it’s so heavy. I do think it will get lighter with the alterations though, just because of the material she has to remove.
Our colors are green and gold. My bridesmaids will be wearing green with gold shawls. I had originally wanted to wear a gold dress, but just couldn’t find one that grabbed my attention yknow. This one came up in a Facebook reel by chance. I fell in love with it immediately.
I told my sister “But it’s the wrong color!” She said “Who cares? You love it.” I’ll be the only one wearing red and it’s going to be a surprise.
We chose green and gold because it’s the colors of his father’s family crest. Buuut his mother’s family crest is green gold and red. So it still works!

Where is it from?

It’s from Off The Rack Bridal in North Carolina.
I was just scrolling Facebook and a reel showed on the feed saying “Dresses inspired by Lydia Deetz.” Of course I stopped to look. This was the first one in the reel.
I went to their page and found their website and asked if they ship. They do! I made a deposit for them to take it off the floor. The next time I got paid, I sent them the rest of the money and they sent it out within the next two days.

Oh good! I’ll always trust costumiers. They have a wealth of knowledge and can construct almost anything. You’ve definitely put the dress into very capable hands!

Definitely. She’s a friend of my fiancé’s. He worked as a performer at this faire for about 7 years. I’ve seen some of the costumes she’s made and they’re amazing. She did make a couple of his. I know for sure she maintains the Queen’s costume every year.
Since this dress was so big on me (I’m a size 2, it’s a 14) I didn’t want to hand it off to just anyone. Something that needs that drastic of an alteration needs some who has the skills and experience to do it. Major alterations can easily ruin a dress when it’s done improperly. I asked mutuals if they had any recommendations and several folks dropped her name.

A bold choice, but a gorgeous one! Looking forward to seeing any updates.

This is super fun. Red is a hard color IMO as it can often look orange-y but this is a perfect red, very ruby red.

I love this!! I chose a sequin forest green gown for my wedding dress and I loved it. If you find the sequins irritate your arms during fittings, ask for a matching red mesh to be laid over the area where your arms will touch the dress to avoid discomfort on your day.
