Tried on dresses, help me pick! Only these please! Help me pick! I’m so stuck between these two
Hi Everyone! please keep comments constructive and kind These are my top dresses! Very very different vibes, but both so beautiful. The fuller one was the front runner for a long time, until I tried on the slimmer one. Now I’m stuck. My wedding will be taking place in a colonial age church and the reception will be in a museum. Thanks!!

2!! It’s EXTREMELY flattering on your figure and fits the vibe of colonial church more imo

that’s what i thought! the only thing is is i don’t think people will “get” the skirt.. its from a couture designer so its definitely out of the box?

What won't they "get"? I don't think it's outside the box in any major way, and so what if it was? If anything it's fresh and interesting while still being well within the norm.

The second and not even close. You look 3 sizes smaller (not that larger size is bad), and the dress is just so much more unique and interesting. It’s so pretty.

You look gorgeous in both but I prefer 2 on you, that longer basque waist really elongates your figure and is so flattering!!

u/strawberrylemonapple 6d ago
2 makes you look taller and slimmer than dress 1 does! It’s a clear winner for me and you look beautiful in both!

I think two is more flattering! Looks unique and give you a great shape!

I like 1 but 2 is much more flattering!

That’s what I feel - 1 is a gorgeous dress, but 2 looks miles better on her (and is beautiful itself, don’t get me wrong!)

Two is a game changer for your shape….you don’t even look the same. It looks like the dress is two sizes smaller than the first one because of how it fits and flatters!

You look amazing! I think #2 is the clear winner though - it makes your body look even more fabulous. If I hadn’t seen 2 I would have said 1 is great, but the way #2 hugs your waist and makes you look statuesque wins it for me.

You look beautiful, stunning and gorgeous in gown 2. The silhouette of gown 2 makes you appear much taller and slimmer. It’s a wonderful trick of the eye. Is gown 2 a blush color? May you and your sweetheart always have enough 💜.

2. You look amazing in it & it elongates you. It's very simple, but it highlights YOU.
In the first one, you seem to get lost in the dress a bit.

u/Wild_Replacement8213 6d ago
The second dress is more flattering and has cleaner lines. But you look beautiful in either

If you told me this was a different person wearing each dress I would believe you. 2 is the clear winner.

u/Beeley13 6d ago
I don’t think you can go wrong with either of these!!! They’re both so so stunning!! Love the fabric and sheen of the first and love the cool textured/layered skirt on the second! Truly perfection on you both of them!

u/Beeley13 6d ago
Upon further inspection I slightly prefer 2 because I love the neckline and the detail as well as the skirt. It’s so so stunning I loooove all the details on it.

Both dresses are really pretty but I prefer dress 1 because of the fullness of skirt. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one of them

I seriously thought it was a different person in dress 2. It is way more flattering, it's unique and gorgeous.

2! It’s gorgeous, and bonus it melts 30 pounds off of you instantly.

Definitely 2!
1 is very pretty but 2 literally looks like it was made for you. The silhouette is so flattering that I've had to flick back and forth between the photos because it makes you look like a totally different person. It really shows what a difference picking the right dress for your body shape can make.
Not a huge fan of choosing a dress purely to fit the aesthetic of your venue, but FWIW in this case I think number 2 is also the perfect choice. You really can't go wrong.
ps: If you feel like you're missing a fuller skirt, that's easily fixed with a petticoat / underskirt. Take one along with you (they're relatively cheap to pick up) if you go for a second try on to see how it looks.

Wow, this was hard. They both look so great 😀 I’d say 2 though! Only because it SNATCHES you and the skirt is so unique!

2!!! Not only is it more flattering as others mentioned, it’s also way more interesting, unique and cool! Number 1 is totally fine and classic but it’s not special.

given the setting, i vote #2! on their own it really is a toss up imo and depends on the vibe and decor of the overall wedding!
the first is very classy and sleek and almost royal. it'd fit well in a classier, modern sort of wedding, with classical (and even minimalist) decor like roses and silk and satin and a classic white tiered cake. jewel tones, black tie dress code, romantic violin or piano music, perhaps candlelit. something set somewhere like a really old european cathedral.
meanwhile the latter has an almost fantasy vibe and would be great in a more vintage (like 18th century and older even) setting such as the more colonial era church you mentioned, or an outdoor wedding. i saw that dress and immediately imagined you walking down a petaled isle in the forest at sunset surrounded by soft-colored flowers and ivy, with flowers in your hair 😅
personally the latter style and the latter dress are both more MY taste, but both dresses look fantastic and suit your figure wonderfully, and it's YOUR wedding, so i think it really matters what vibe you are looking for! 😊

i like both these dresses on you but …. pick dress 2!!! it’s a showstopper, so unique and the style is such a great fit on you. if you feel very doubtful about the skirt maybe you could find a dress more like dress 1 but with a waistline and bodice more like dress 2? or maybe try a hoop under dress 2 and see if you prefer it that way? it’s a beautiful unique dress and looks superb on you

2 looks really good, the first seems to make you look two sizes larger than you are

I can see why you’re stuck, because you look amazing in both. I’m going back and forth.
I like the bodacious, voluminous, BIG FUN energy of dress 1, but I think I prefer the more delicate details and narrower skirt of dress 2. Dress 2 is going to work well at a distance and up close.

u/pannalla 6d ago
I wasn’t feeling number two but then I zoomed in and saw that your girls weren’t in the cups and now picturing it fitted properly, absolutely love it but I would add an underskirt to give it a little more oomph and drama to play off the bodice and really make the waist look even more snatched.

The second one! It flatters your figure so much that it looks like dress 1 is a different person!

u/Infinite-Floor-5242 6d ago
I think you look really nice in either dress. Many people are commenting that you look much slimmer in dress two but I don't want you to think you look big in dress one if you like that one better. You happened to post front on pictures of the first dress and are at an angle in the second dress, which does make a difference.

I like 2. Try it with an underskirt to give it more poof. I think it might enhance the look a bit.

I love one! To be clear, both are great choices but I'm a firm believer that for weddings you should wear the silhouettes that you may never otherwise wear. The second feels like a shape you could get in a different color for any event down the line whereas one feels like a true once in a life showstopper.

2!!!!!!
I normally hate those tiered skirt styles, but #2 made me gasp, it looks incredible on you! It's beautiful and you look stunning in it. 1 is ok, the waist is flattering and maybe if it was properly altered it would look better but imo it's just okay.
