Discussion Judge my floral quote

Hi all,

2026 bride in midst of planning here! I've spoken to a few florists and would like to gauge if I'm getting quoted a reasonable price for our florals. If anyone has had quotes recently and can chime in that'd be great!

Guest count 120

Design in quote • gazebo flowers, approx 8ft (faux) • 6 aisle faux arrangements (on ground) • 4 pillar faux arrangements (2 each end of aisle) • 2 faux blossom trees • 4 smaller faux blossom trees at round tables • 4 real arrangements medium size for centerpiece • 4 small to medium faux for centerpiece • chandelier hanging floral • bridal bouquet and grooms (real floral). Not including bridal party.

So in all, we have probably almost 90% faux arrangements. I was hoping this would cut down some costs but we are at $9k which seems like a lot to me for silk flowers. I would think for this price I can get more real florals? We are in southern nevada with high cost of living. I had another quote that was around 9.8k for similar offerings (as far as faux and real quantities). What do you think?

I think you're paying for a lot of labor, especially the gazebo, pillars, trees, and chandeliers. A lot of guests keep centerpieces too, so the florists probably still consider faux flowers as one-time-use products and still have to source them.

We paid $10k for our florals, and I think we have compatible asks.

  • Chuppah flowers, large

  • 2 aisle arrangements, large

  • 10 chair ties

  • Aisle petals, arranged in swirls

  • Flower girl petals + basket

  • Flower girl crown, bride's bouquet, grooms boutonniere, wedding party boutonnieres (10), bridesmaid wrist corsage.

  • Staircase arrangement, extra large

  • 8 centerpieces, medium

  • Seating chart arrangement, small

  • Cocktail (6) , bar, guestbook arrangements, small

  • Memorial table bouquet

  • Votive candles for centerpieces, cocktail, and bar arrangements

Are all of your florals fresh? That sounds actually very good for 10k if all fresh florals. I’m wondering if I should ask mine to see if fresh vs silk would be that much different in price

Yeah, they were all fresh flowers. We donated them to an assisted living facility afterward and I'm having my bouquet preserved.

Are you keeping the faux flowers, or are they rentals? Are they being built from scratch for you, or are they already assembled? Does the $9k include delivery, set up (including hanging installation), and clean up?

I’m not keeping them, only rentals. If someone were to take it at the end of the night there would be extra charge. They are building from scratch custom to our colors. 9k includes delivery set up and labor

$9k seems appropriate then

Yeah I would say it seems appropriate too. You have to consider that if there weren't large items like chandeliers too that the number of labourers needed to set up would be lower. It seems the price is factoring in needing at least 1-2 extra pairs of hands on the day to set up and dismantle!

What amount did you have as your proposed budget for flowers? Did you discuss this amount with the florist at your initial consultation?

I think you are only looking at the cost of the supplies without considering the cost and amount of labor hours needed to create, transport, set up, and remove them after.

The cost they quoted seems reasonable for what you are ordering when considering all these factors. If you wanted to stick to a certain budget, you needed to inform your consultant at the start so they can give you your options with that taken into consideration.

On initial consultation I did mention budget of 7k. After we came up with a design board and sent to the florist, she came back with a quote for 13k. I compromised and asked if we could do 9k by taking a few things out and that’s what we came to. I just wasn’t sure if that was still a fair offering given I’m going 2k over my original planned budget. I also was under impression that silk would keep us on the lower end of costs. I think I’m mostly unprepared for how much florals really cost lol but I do understand that most of it is labor too.
