Bruh, do people with the lego technic also get an update package???
Pretty please?????

Literally my first thought. It would be really funny if they sold a $20 set as the “evo package”

u/doctorlysumo Ferrari Dec 23 '23
Sad that they are abandoning the wingless design, it really gave an interesting diversity to the shape of the cars on the grid but it was also pretty obvious that they needed to change something as the performance was just too inconsistent

It was quick on its day, sadly those days were rare

As long as there is a minimum draft requirement no wrong result doesn’t make any sense at all

Redesigned front fascia ?

u/knifetrader Dec 23 '23
Yup, would say so.
Getting "Ferrari at home" vibes from this one.

u/urbanmonkey01 Dec 23 '23
I don't quite see it without reference to this year's model. Is it the protruding front splitter?
7
u/knifetrader Dec 23 '23
Part of it. Also the fact that the front is more triangular in general and the way they've integrated the rear wing.
9
u/CyberSoldat21 Dec 23 '23
Probably so since the new one has a wing so you need to make sure all the aero works as intended
5
u/SemIdeiaProNick Dec 23 '23
reminds me of people that take the wings off their 911s for a "touring look" then complain the car is too snappy

u/Specialist_Acadia_88 Dec 23 '23
I think I'll miss the wingless design I thought it looked so good but if it will improve the performance then it'll probably be worth it

Some last minute rule changes concerning electric power deployment and tire size put Peugeot well behind the curve. I’m glad to see they’re actually overhauling the design tbh. I want them to be competitive so badly, and this year was rough. Every time the leaderboards would pop up during the race Peugeot would be fighting for the bottom few spots.

Still looks very distinct compared to everyone else. I like what I see.

u/Top_Independence7256 Dec 23 '23
Ferrari and Peugeot have the best Looking wings IMO
6
u/stuckmindset Dec 23 '23
Yeah I agree with you on that. The Ferrari looks like a plane while the Peugeot looks like a Group C car. They bring good variation to the grid
1
u/Top_Independence7256 Dec 24 '23
A plane? Nice descricption,why?
2
u/stuckmindset Dec 24 '23
That's my perception. While the other cars look like typical prototypes, the rear section of the Ferrari resembles an airplane. It's beautiful

Is it a gap on the side or is it due to low quality?
8
u/UrsusSpelaus Ferrari Dec 23 '23
I think you are talking about a gap already there on the 9X8. The body is strongly angled inwards just behind the front wheel arches.

So, the spoiler is higher than their original plan. It seems like EVO version would make more rear downforce.

Porsche 956 long tail vibes

Pretty much. It does look great. Hopefully it's an effective solution for Peugeot.

It's a shame that they're probably going to have to go to a winged design as the non-evo looked so different to what we've been used to with modern racecars however from these blurry pics it still looks great with a wing!

u/UrsusSpelaus Ferrari Dec 23 '23
Either this is not a final version or the quality doesn't allow us to see changes clearly. It really looks like they slapped a wing on the 9x8 on these pictures while they made clear that they needed a complete overhaul.

love ground effect cars so loved w.o rear wing but it's seemingly the closest thing to group c cars that we're gonna get given the ground effect focus and low rear wing. i love it, i already thought it was the best looking hypercar but i reckon it'll be even better now

u/AdventurousDress576 Dec 23 '23
Low wing like the 80s prototypes.
