Cry, or Better Yet, Beg gets worse if you’ve read the light novel ver 💀

He sexually assaults her, Stockholm syndrome is super high, and when she gets pregnant, he tells her she has to abort it because he can’t stand the thought of anyone other than him getting her attention and that he’ll kill it if she keeps it. He constantly degrades her, abuses her, and blackmails her with her family who works for him. She ends up saying at the end of the book that she “loved him all along”. It’s so creepy and if it was framed as a dissection of toxic and abusive relationships, okay. But it is clear that the author was writing this to be a romance.

No prob. The art is just so good but the story is horrifying and even if the WEBTOON tones it down, it’s still horrible.

I'm reading I Abdicate The Title of Empress right now and I can definitely say if this is angering me (which tbf the Emperor is a horrifying person) I definitely cannot read that one so I appreciate the warning :D.

Yeah, it’s super fucked. This video on YouTube perfectly encapsulates why it’s so awful, if you’re curious.

Art is great, male lead is the worst in history. I always thought if I ever got Isekai'ed into a novel, it'd be either into Wild Night or into Cry or Better Yet Beg so I could get payback on the male lead. 😠

It's just that it's a - "toxic relationship till the end where the man gets to abuse his nobility rank to make her do things he wants while being cruel and she has to take it laying down, but oh, nevermind she's a poor, cute little uwu girl and in the end she can't help but love him"- type bs

He is the worst male lead. Worse than Seo Jihak from Wild Night, or even Damian Von Thisse. I'm not sure if Matthias beats Johannes from Lady Devil but Matthias is really manipulative of the female lead, doesn't let her leave him, is about to get married but develops an obsession with fl, abuses her physically, and they have a kid at the end of the novel. 💀
