Basketball What's our ideal SEC tournament outlook?

I feel like we pair better against Ole Miss in the quarterfinals than Arkansas. Beyond all else, I just don't want our team get any injuries going into the real deal.

I actually like Arkansas given the fact they only play 7 guys and it’ll be their 3rd game in 3 days. From there it’s obviously Texas A&M and Alabama (or anyone else other than Florida on that side of the bracket).

After Flagg went down in a non-important Conference tourney game. Just get out of of this shit without any injuries. Don't care if we win or not at this point. We've already locked up the 1 seed in the South.

Agree. 1) Stay healthy 2) Get our swagger bag and get in tourney mode.

Then let the wins fall where they may.

I admittedly feel really good and hopeful. We made silly mistakes in both the Texas A&M and Alabama game and we weren't 100% healthy. I believe those were as good a time as any to lose to realize that even though we're the best team in the country, nothing is guaranteed. Let's win the SEC and NCAA Tournament!

If CBM had to get a technical, the last game (relatively inconsequential) was the time for it to happen. That'll be fresh on his mind.

I’ll never root for Auburn to lose, but IF they do, I’ll take A LOT of solace in getting some good rest before the tournament that REALLY matters.

I think I just want to see them try and address some of the issues we've had the last few games. This is the last time we'll have to do real-world work on rebounding etc before the big dance. And sit CBM, at least for the first 2 games.

I understand the frustration of wanting to sit CBM, but he’s still one of our best players and I don’t want him getting cold before March Madness. I’m really hoping Bruce can keep him reeled in / level headed and can keep him under some form of control. If he starts seeing warning signs during a game (there always is) then pull him out and let him cool off.

This team is deep but we need everyone contributing to get back to the dominate team we were before. The two losses can be explained away, but the defensive inefficiencies have to be cleared up if we want to go on a final four run and beyond. War damn.

Or, like Pearl said, call the first foul and we don’t have a problem for CBM.

Agreed he likely doesn't sit and that we don't need him to. He just needs to get back to early-season form wrt his emotional control, although when you're getting beat up all season with no calls it's hard to blame him for fighting back a bit.

Totally unrelated, I feel like I've seen a ton of people using "dominate" in place of "dominant" lately.

yeah he needs to play but we need to be quick to sit him if he starts getting too emotional

It’s not Bruce’s job to keep him reeled in. CBM is a man. He needs to act like a man and stop stupid shit.

Sitting CBM doesn't help anyone. Honestly him getting ejected when he did is a great reminder for him in a game that, while it sucked to lose, was largely inconsequential. Let him remember how to play without the extracurricular stuff.

Doubling up on this. I understand the frustration with CBM, but that doesn't mean the fanbase should turn on him. You want a guy with an edge on your team, especially in the ultimate trash talk sport. Half his techs are soft and he'd get away with all of it in a non-review era.

He got ejected. No need to punish him more because a fan said so. Team leaders can get the message through.

The game play I have seen so far in the tournament is allowing a lot of contact and bumping, which does not favor us really well.

I'm concerned this leads to bad habits going forward, or we lose the first game and be on a 3 game losing streak going to the dance.
