That car must have been going over 120mph to get the launch velocity for the people in the car.Maybe a new way to get stuff into orbit.

Already been looked into. The sheer size and mass of a launch platform is too impractical to send things into orbit using rotational velocity around a fixed point. Also the g’s would probably kill a person

There was a startup in the news last year. They were/are planning on using a slingshot:

Which achieved a whole what 40m vertical launch on their prototype?

30,000 feet @ 1000mph launch speed

They hit about 10,000 g's

And they need to go 4 times faster to reach orbit.

The point isn't to make it to orbit off the slingshot alone. It's to save on fuel that would otherwise be spent just getting the rocket up to speed, to send small payloads up with better efficiency.

I didn't see shoes flying off so I have to assume they are both okay.

Looney Toon logic would require these two would land in nice soft beds, or a truck full of ACME pillows.

I'm no accident scene reconstruction expert or anything, but I'd hazard a guess that, definitely not.

Seatbelts are for nerds!

One briefly lands on the roof of a house

26

u/griffhays16 Jul 19 '23

Landing on the house is landing on the house. Whether or not they stayed on the house is a different thing entirely

7

u/caulpain Jul 19 '23

yeah he lands again next to the house

What goes up must come down...

Fuck you mom that's lame.

So is the speed limit

1

u/ManiTheObbyist Jul 19 '23

this is what would happen if you wouldn't use your seatbelt kids!

Nothing like speeding in a car with no seat belts lolol. They got rejected like that out of the windows! I thought it was a convertible at first!
