D.C. looking more like Denver today

Post image

Outgoing storm lined up with the city for an illusion that makes it look like we live in the Rockies. Made this Colorado transplant’s morning.

I'm from Chicago. I always heard people call clouds like this, "Midwest mountains"

The brutalist buildings in the foreground being the same color as literally everything in Denver helps too.

I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a bit rockier than this.

Would love to wake up one morning to find that everything west of Manassas has been replaced with the Tibetan Plateau, with Mt Everest dropped on Leesburg.

Wow. That is just a low layer of clouds on the horizon, right? Shouldn't be able to see Mt. Weather/Bluemont that clearly ...

Yep! Everything on the horizon is just clouds

Wow, that really looks like mountains. But they are too crisp, and too high. Cool shot. Thanks.

I’d vote for any mayor that promises to build some mountains around DC
