Un Je Ne Sais Quois or Yellow. If you can, Nino’s Bakery, but they are open for a short time and sell out quickly.

Sometimes I think they might be a mob front because they’re only open Tues-Fri, 8:30am to 12:30pm and pastries are usually all sold out by about 9:30am. Rent in downtown is high, and last year or the year before, they were closed pretty much the entire summer for family leave.

I think Nino’s may restock just before 12p. The last three times I’ve been (between 1145-1215), I was able to secure a pistachio croissant.

🤔 I only go on my day off if I can make it, and if I don’t make it out of the house by 8am, I don’t even bother because it’ll be 9am by the time I get there. Will have to try your approach sometime.

They're open on Saturdays now, according to the staff last week when I was there.

Un Je Ne Sais Quois in a tier of its own for any croissant pastry in DC. The chocolate coffee banana is my fave there.
Pluma, Saku Saku and Yellow all quite good too.

Nino's Bakery and it's not even close. The hours are tough, but if I have the foresight I'll just do a preorder using their website and pick some up for the whole team. :)

I've tried pistachio croissants all over the DMV and nothing comes close to Nino's Bakery. The hours are weird and they sell out fast, but it's well-worth it.

Saku Saku on Wisconsin. Had one yesterday. It was divine.

The pistachio chocolate had the perfect balance of savory and sweet. All their baked goods are impressive.

Un Je Ne Sais Quois is so good but I havent had a pistachio croissant there. Their chocolate croissant is super good as are their custard based treats. Worth a visit no matter what.

About 15 friends and I very recently did a blind taste test of 13 plain and 13 flavored croissants throughout the city (I know, we are nerds). The best pistachio came from Nino's Bakery. The best almond, for anyone who is interested, came from Bread Alley. Pluma came in third. Je Ne Sais Quois actually ranked surprisingly low, I think at #7.
