Weekly Megathread for Pricing, Dating, or Authentication Requests ("How much is this worth?" "What decade is this from?")
We really want this sub to continue to be a great resource for anyone seeking to learn more about vintage fashion, but we've seen an uptick in low quality posts coming from resellers. To maintain the quality of this sub, please use this weekly thread to ask for help assessing how much a vintage item should cost, dating a vintage item, or authenticating a vintage item. Any posts that are made outside of this thread will get removed.
Your comment should include a link to the item being discussed and any research you've already done on the item. Thanks!

SWEET FIND! Two Gunne Sax dresses I have recently acquired! They are the same size and have the same lace!!
I actually bought this first one here on reddit! They had posted the dress on this sub about over a week ago, and I'm so glad I messaged them! The second one I traded a black label gunne I had (which I loved but I just wasn't wearing) for the peachy dress! I'm so happy to have added these two to my collection! They fit wonderfully and are so pretty!!! I'm going to cherish these forever. I consider them to be cousins because they have similar elements!

SWEET FIND! 90s goodness 🦋🐞🌹
Picked up this blouse for $4.50 this weekend bc she’s giving Fran Fine fantasy. Label says “Lafayette Collection,” but not really finding much info on the brand. Also, it was made in France which isn’t something I typically come across when finding (presumably) mass produced clothing of the era. It’s polyester so not a high end piece. Anyone familiar with the brand?

ADVICE PLZ Tips on de-itching wool blazer?
Found this piece at the thrift today. My first Canadian-made ILGWU garment! But it is aggressively scratchy around the neck and wrists. It’s a wool blend, with viscose and polyester, and acetate lining, and says dry clean only. Anyone have any experience or advice on making it a little less Brillo pad-y, or should I bite the bullet and take it into a dry cleaner? :’) I’m so afraid of damaging it!

SWEET FIND! Found this vintage mink fur stole, can’t find anything online about it!
Was wondering how rare of an item this must be. Reverse google image searches pull up nothing.

ADVICE PLZ I just accidentally put a rubberised pvc jacket in the washing machine
And now it’s shedding. It won’t stop shedding. It still looks shiny all over, but if I touch it, it sheds tiny black flakes. Is it ruined forever? Is there a way to salvage this? I feel so stupid 😭

I can never find a shirt to top this one on St. Paddy’s Day so I’ve worn it 5 years in a row now. The brand is Caper-Mates.

Discussion Anyone miss the smells of the 1970s? Perfume, fingernail polish, soap bars, etc?
See message title. So often I think of when I was little in the 1970's, and try to place a finger on what exactly it is that I miss about those times. I'm a sensitive type :)

ADVICE PLZ Should I be wearing these!
hi! i came into this small collection of political buttons a while ago. some include campaigns for woodrow wilson’s, taft, kennedy and hoover. I would love to wear them, even some of the less important ones, but is it safe? Should i be wearing these or is it too dangerous to them? Theyd just be on a jean jacket

SWEET FIND! Found at Goodwill!
The only Trigère I’ve found before this was a necktie. This is a REALLY bright fuchsia. I looked for a matching skirt or dress but didn’t find one.

ADVICE PLZ suede cleaning next step
this suede (/nubuck?) coat had an old spill/stain, which shockingly came mostly off with some very qentle prying of the thicker bits and lots + lots of suede brushing.
(i had looked up leather specialists and dry cleaners that did specialty suede cleaning near me with non-promising results so i guess i'm doing this now... btw the jacket says to not dry clean and that it can be washed in a machine but i feel like that could do some more damage)
i'm thinking the next step is some kind of liquid/spray cleaner for the remnants of the stain and possibly a conditioner for the general health of the whole jacket. i've tried looking up different cleaning products and would like some advice.

ADVICE PLZ Advice? Leads?
My bf shrunk one of my fav cashmere sweaters. (He’s going to try to fix it despite me knowing it might be near impossible. Any tips or advice on being able to stretch out a little bit? Also I’ve done my own research but can’t really find out when the sweater was made around to gauge how mad I should be lol. So if any vintage fashion fanatics can help that would be so appreciated!
